MICROFRACTURE SURGERY FOR KELLY GREGG

Ravens defensive tackle Kelly Gregg is out for the season and will have microfracture surgery on his left knee today. “It wasn’t responding to anything,” said his agent, Jack Bechta. “He knew it was time to move on.” Microfracture surgery is serious for anyone, but especially for a 315-pounder who is about to turn 32. Bechta said Gregg likely won’t be cleared to return to action until May or June. Prior to this season, Gregg had started every game for the Ravens for each of the last three years. But this season he was never able to get on the field, and the Ravens’ defense has been very good with Justin Bannan taking Gregg’s place as the starting nose tackle.
