BROKEN PINKIE CONFIRMED, ROMO OUT 4-5 WEEKS

Adam Schefter of NFLN confirms Michael Smith’s report of a broken pinkie for Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo.
Per Schefter, Romo will miss four or five weeks.
The “four or five” thing is critical.  If it’s four, he’ll miss three games only and be back when the Cowboys return for their bye.  If it’s five, he’ll also miss the return match against the Redskins, who beat the Cowboys two weeks ago in Dallas.

  1. Ok, Jerry. You win. I’ll officially sign the terms of surrender. You’ve won the war on Cowboys fans. First, you ran off Jimmy. Then you gave us Switzer-Campo-Gailey. To pour some salt in the wound, you gave us Quincy Carter. You win. No more fighting. No more resistance. I abandon all hope of ever winning a playoff game.

  2. Amen to that. When opposing teams simply put 8 in the box regardless to stop the run (which will be what the Cowboys lean on now, that O-line and beast of a back), OR put 8 in the box to send 6-7, drop one into zone to pick the hot reads, etc… T.O. will love it!! Brad Johnson is not mobile. The Rams have a legitimate shot at home next week to get a win.

  3. im going to go into hiding now, because thats what us cowboy fans do when we suck, hide… like cockroaches

  4. T.O.: “Thats my quarterback man…” (while crying) hahahahahahaaha

  5. Oh my Romeo hurt his wittle, wittle pinkie. So sad. Maybe Jessica will kiss it and make all better.

  6. guys be nice, box vaginas has already had his little feelings hurt on the other post, he was upset cause someone was “laughing” at little tony breaking his little pinky. of course how breaking your pinky keeps you off the field for “4-5” weeks is a whole nother story. maybe he should call himself “tanya”.

  7. Terrell Owens said shortly after hearing the news…
(Crying hysterically) “That’s my teammate. (Blows nose on Wade Phillips shirt) “That’s my quarterback.” (Hugs Jerry Jones for 20 minutes) “That’s his pinkie-finger. It’s not fair. It’s not fair!
    The countdown is on…

  8. Look, I’m an Eagles fan and would like nothing better than to see the Cowboys implode, but gimme a friggin’ break. A starting QB going down for 4-5 weeks isn’t exactly the sky falling. Here’s to hoping that it actually happens, but they’re not there yet.

  9. Again, more sports fans celebrating injuries. Society is really headed in a strange direction. Injuries are part of the game, and unfortunantly, people get hurt. I hope Romo recovers quickly because if my team were to play the Cowboys, I’d much rather beat them with Romo at the helm.

  10. Dont worry cowboy Fans, TO can just step up and will just have to fill the leadership .. Sorry cant finish this just laughing too hard.

  11. Uh Oh… whoever broke Romo’s pinky is going to get fined!!! The game film is being reviewed as we speak to determine when the pinky was broken and fines will be delved out accordingly.

  12. Wow…
Hey jerry you can have jon kitna for a bag of stale chips and a flat liter of pepsi.
    Pull that trigger!

  13. Friggin haters……annoying bunch of losers that get excited over an injury, u guys are a class act. Especially Eagles fans the biggest dirt bags on the planet….cheered when Michael Irvin was nearly paralyzed, Eagles fans very classy.

  14. I can’t stand Homo of the Cowgirls, but let’s class it up folks. Cheering injuries is poor taste. Besides anyone who has ever played will tell you that you want to beat a team with their best players.
I got news for y’all anyway, this injury could actually help the Cowgirls (long-term) if it gets them to focus more on their running game. God forbid, they may realize that, with their OL, Barber and now Felix Jones, they should be running the ball 30x a game.

  15. “Can the past 24 hours get any better for Eagles’ fans??”
Yes. The Giants could lose to the Browns!

  16. Brad Johnson will be fine for the Cowboys. He’s no Romo, and he’s a little too conservative, but he’s very accurate and throws very few picks. With the rest of the talent on that offense, Dallas shouldn’t miss a beat.
Well, except for when the Bucs come to Texas Stadium and whip their asses.

  17. Romo could take “toughness” lessons from the guy he replaced.
Drew Bledsoe broke the INDEX finger of his throwing hand, finished the game, rested it one week, led the team on a comeback win against the Steelers, had surgery with a PIN inserted in the finger so he could play in the playoffs.
Apparently for Romo the pinky finger is much more important than one’s index finger. (Insert Jessica Simpson joke here (and insert “insert” joke here))

  18. Hopefully people will now stop referring to him as the next Brett Favre…because Brett would NEVER miss a game let a lone 4 to 5 because of his pinky…wuss!

  19. What a bunch of pathetic jerk-offs. As much as I hate the Eagles, and I do hate the Eagles, I would never cheer an injury to anyone on their team. Any other Cowboys fan that I know would not either.
I guess that is one more reason the Cowboys and their fans are the class of the NFL. The rest of you (with the exception of fretileoctogenarian) have shown your lack of class and ignorance.
    Pathetic human beings.

  20. Wheresseptien, relax dude. It’s his freaking pinkie!!!!!!! No one is cheering at a serious injury. Get over yourself and your stupid Cowgirls.

  21. Geez…Its only 4 weeks. Im not a Dallas fan but those guys have a good O-line, great RB/s and a great D. Johnson won’t go deep but he won’t screw up that much. Maybe they will pound the ball like they should have been the first 6 weeks. Seems to me the coaches need to get it together. There is far more freaking talent on that team than Owens!

I am with you there. I wasn’t making fun of Romo. In the other story, I was very sorry the guy got hurt. However, T.O’s past antics do make HIM an easy target though.

  23. brady9, whereseptian, shootah and whoever else… personally I don’t really care one way or the other about romo’s injury, but give me a break. Being excited over something serious like a concussion is one thing, but a broken pinky finger is nothing to get all worked up over. This is about the same level of seriousness as someone getting hit in the groin on america’s funniest home videos.

That’s BS. In the game against the Packers, several Cowboys fans at the place I was watching it were cheering when Al Harris had to leave the game. Cowboys fans are no classier than any other team in the NFL.

  25. Johnson, in 23 starts for the Vikings in 05 and 06 (the last time he played meaningful football), 21 TDs, 19 INTs and 7 Fumbles lost. Maybe he will be better this time

  26. Injuries suck don’t they – especially when they happen in situation that you never should be in – for ex. OT vs the Cardinals –
I expect a ton of B Johnson to Witten – TO get your driveway weights ready because you will not be seeing the ball much –
Hello Disaster – serves JJ right – KARMA man, KARMA…

  27. Hey Cowgirls Fans – Stop crying over us ragging Romo over his freakin’ pinkie. Perhaps if you did not claim to be “America’s Team”, Amercia would not be ragging on you and your TMZ QB.
Injuries are not funny, but a Broken Pinkie is Per Se Funny.

  28. Eagles fans are the sh*tstain of the NFL. These responses don’t surprise me at all. I know, I live amongst these *ssnuggets. Anything to make their pathetic season and team look less painful to them. Cowboys win the next three and piss all over you Eagle fans.

Well obviously you haven’t heard the spew of your leader “vox” about
    the injuries to the Eagles.
“I guess that is one more reason the Cowboys and their fans are the class of the NFL.”
I’ve never heard that line before, what paralell universe are you from?
as I said earlier , “as a FOOTBALL fan i don’t like to see any player injured” but there are some fans who are just feeling a Kharmic payback and can’t help themselves.

  30. ShootahCowboy – “I guess that is one more reason the Cowboys and their fans are the class of the NFL.”
    You are kidding right?
If indeed the ‘boys fans were the class of the NFL you would not be patting yourself on the back. Oh, yeah I forgot you have the “I love me some me” on your team. So claiming it does fit the profile.

  31. Yeah Spoonman, That is a real CLASSY post . NOW I see why Cowboys fans are ” the class of the nfl”

  32. Wow, this has been a pretty lame weekend for my Cowboys.
They realistically could be 5-5 when Romo gets back and fighting for a playoff spot.
This will be the ultimate test. If football is about all 3 parts, offense/defense and special teams….then the Cowboys are 1/3 efficient even with Romo. That just doesn’t deserve a win without luck.
The refs seem to give the Cowboys chance after chance but the better team won.

  33. I think they NFL needs to put a ban on QB’s having celebrity girlfriends, its clearly leading to too many injuries.

  34. to bad he doesnt have tolarence for pain like favre…. he is a baby if he cant go cuz he broke a finger…

“how did romo break his finger, someone punch him in the
    nose??”
Are you saying his nose looks like a finger? Well anyways, according to the news it happened when TO finished saying “Together forever” during a TO/Romo pinkie swear.

  36. Those of you who really enjoy this injury and the other injuries suffered by the Cowgirls are sad. I wish Romo and all the other injured players on their squad a swift recovery so that the Giants can expose their over rated backsides on the field on Nov. 2nd. Although by then the TO show will probably have derailed any chance at meaningful games.

  37. Vox and Coyboy fans,
I truly am sorry. I had Romo in my fantasy league. Let’s just hope that Pacman and TO get into trouble so that I have fodder to harass you again. It shouldn’t take long. I’ll be patiently waiting.

  38. Does this mean we wouldn’t have to look at Jerry Jones on the sideline? Maybe there is a silver lining to this.
I have to admit that I never broke my pinkie finger but I think its lame that Tony Homo needs 4 weeks off for that. Favre played a whole season with a broken thumb, he wasn’t that good that year, but still, Homo looks mighty soft on this one.

  39. “I have to admit that I never broke my pinkie finger but I think its lame that Tony Homo needs 4 weeks off for that. Favre played a whole season with a broken thumb, he wasn’t that good that year, but still, Homo looks mighty soft on this one.”
That year was 2003. He spent the whole season with a broken thumb on his THROWING HAND! He led the NFL with 32 TD passes.
Romo is truly a Homo if he can’t play with his poor little pinkie.
He needs to stop being compared to Favre b/c Romo is a giant joke!

Favre played the 2003 season with a broken thumb on his throwing hand! He also led the NFL with 32 TD passes!!!
Romo needs to stop being compared to Favre b/c it’s insane to do so!

  41. “I wish Romo and all the other injured players on their squad a swift recovery so that the Giants can expose their over rated backsides on the field on Nov. 2nd”
Speaking of exposing overrated backsides… I hope you enjoyed the beatdown that the Giants got tonight from one of the worst teams in the NFL.
