DOLPHINS TALKING TO TY LAW

The Miami Dolphins are talking to the representatives for Ty Law and could bring him in for a workout, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports.
Dolphins VP of Football Operations Bill Parcells was head coach of the Patriots in 1995 and 1996, Law’s first two seasons in the NFL.
The Dolphins were already shaky at cornerback, and starter Andre’ Goodman missed practice today with what coach Tony Sparano called “a personal emergency.” Sparano did say he expects Goodman to be back for Sunday’s game against the Ravens.
The 34-year-old Law started all 32 games the last two years for the Chiefs, but he hasn’t found a new NFL home since the Chiefs released him after the season. There were reports that he was considering offers from both the Patriots and the Jets, but nothing materialized in either place. Perhaps his third time talking to an AFC East team will be the charm.

“Bears could use a veteran corner.. ”
My Seahawks could use 3 or 4 of them.

I think Law is pretty much washed-up, but if the Fins front office thinks he can help out & stop the secondary from giving up huge pass completions at critical times, then Im all for it.

He’s a shell of his former self. Waste of $$$ if you ask me…

I’m sure this directly relates to the comments made by the team this week on how they struggle against larger WRs, like Andre Johnson.

Parcells will know how to maximize Law’s few remaining strengths. Wouldn’t be a bad move for the Phins

He already lives in south florida. I’m surprised they didn’t work him out during the off-season. It can’t hurt to take a look at him.

I think Law was a great corner at one time, but it’s hard to believe he has much left in the tank at this point. If he did, he’d either have signed earlier in the season with someone, or there would be other teams talking to him right now (Bears, Dallas, SF, Indy, Oakland all have significant problems at at least one DB position)

    Don’t you mean “Coach Parcells”?

bigbaldpapahawk, Hawks need more than a corner. LOL! Anyone else think Patrick Kerney wishes he’d stayed in Atlanta?

Vox – if the poster had said “Mr. Parcells” yes, that might warrant a correction…. but he didn’t, so stop trying to instigate. People frequently refer to people in football by just their last names. I realize you know this, but you’re acting a little ridiculous with this of late. settle down now.
jesus, haven’t seen a fan this sour about his old coach leaving in a long time.

You got it all wrong. I’m glad Parcells left. The way he took guys with him with no compensation stinks, though. Sparano’s not the head coach in anything but title. Jeff Ireland is nothing but a puppet as well. You know it and I know it.

    Kinda like Wade Phillips, huh?

    Zing.
Vox, are you Jerry Jones’ fluffer? I can think of no other explanation of your antipathy for the guy who built your current team. Or are you simply angry that Detroit–of all teams, Detroit!–screwed you in a trade?
