CHIEFS ALREADY RULE LJ OUT FOR SUNDAY?

It sounds like Larry Johnson’s latest alleged assault of a female will keep him out of the Chiefs lineup on Sunday. Both Carl Peterson and Herman Edwards avoided making a direct comment about Johnson’s status, other than admitting that the league has been in contact and is conducting an investigation. Edwards, however, went in a very roundabout direction to indicate that, regardless of the league’s decision, Johnson won’t be facing the Jets on Sunday. “I don’t have to make a decision on who’s starting, not starting,” Edwards said. “That’s kind of where that’s at. Whatever I do, hopefully – I think you know me by now, people know me by now, I’m going to do the right thing for the football team. That’s where it stands with me.” He was a bit clearer later in his chat with reporters. “You can’t wait on other people to do your work for you in certain situations. We make decisions in this organization for what’s best for the football team. I do it that way...When the National Football League steps in, that’s a whole entire different situation. They have the decisions they make. We have the decisions we make as a football team.” Long story short, I wouldn’t count on Johnson helping your fantasy team much this weekend.
