Yeah, Magary was kinda funny, but hopefully not giving serious advice. Wouldn’t waste five minutes of reading time on the full book, though. The Palin joke was standard, and got a negative creativity rating. He and Simmons are definitely banned from making any political commentary, since they get their info in sound bites. Palin may be dumb, but hearing a teaser for the Couric interview doesn’t qualify as research. CFioren317, I must congratulate the highly appropriate use of the term “ass clown.”

Good call. I also am tired of these sportswriters giving us their political opinion. I think they do it because it gives them street cred with their colleagues in the news. Kind of like, “hey, look at me! I can make fun of Sarah Palin too. I’m a serious journalist. I can do more than just sniff jocks.”

Your first mistake was expecting anything serious out of this!!! I think this was written by Dave Barry in disguise!!! Tkx for the laugh Dave.
I do agree with the fact of: praise in public and reprimand in private. A very basic management concept applicable to all managers regardless of the industry. No place for emotions in the public setting. In the locker room, a different story

so let me get this straight…singeltary is suppose to ignore the guy who disrespected him and his position, on the field, in front of the team, and not let him know who the boss is??…maybe you’re just saying it should be dealt with behind close doors, but i have no idea what your book is about, you didn’t tell a compelling story, and it appears you have nothing of any constructivity to read about.
this is the first review that made me NOT want to read a book…sorry.
