OCHO ADMITS TO OBAMA BANNERS

More than a week after being coy regarding his reported intent to unfurl an Obama flag if he had scored a touchdown in Houston on October 26, Bengals receiver Chad Johnson told Dan Patrick on Tuesday that he had stashed flags in the padding of each goalpost in Houston, which read “Obama ’08 Rock The Vote.”
Patrick skillfully cajoled Johnson into admitting to the presence of the banners by citing last week’s interview with teammate T.J. Houshmandzadeh, who didn’t quite say definitively that banners were in place, but only that Johnson wanted to do it.
Said Johnson last week in response to questions regarding our report as to his planned touchdown celebration:  “You know I can’t do that.  The NFL might throw me out the NFL.  I’m serious.  I’ve done some crazy stuff, but man, if I did that.  What do you think would happen?  Would that be a good thing or bad thing?  Would I get in trouble?
“Maybe Obama’s campaign would’ve paid for my fine.  That would’ve been some good pub.  Not like they really needed it but it would’ve been nice.”
On Sunday, Johnson wrote “Obama” on a chalkboard after scoring one of his two touchdowns against the Jaguars, but CBS didn’t air it during the game and NBC chose not to show it during the highlights package on Football Night in America.  Since the gesture wasn’t aired, Johnson probably won’t be fined.
Then again, if Johnson was instructed last week by the league office that he would be punished severely if he made any political statements during Sunday’s game, the fact that Johnson tried to do it might still get him in trouble.

Anyways back to the topics at hand. I think Obama paid the network not to show that! I wouldn’t want to be endorsed by Ocho Cinco.

Does Chad realize that with an Obama win, he’ll have to pay more in taxes? I guess if you have so many reasons to live, there’s nothing wrong with helping out us common folk.

Maybe the Obama people asked him not to do it. I’d think he would turn off more fence sitters than he’d swing. I’d hate to think this knucklehead’s endorsement would be good for anyone.

Since no one can get their dander down and pay attention to the post, I was surprised at the statement “Since the gesture wasn’t aired, Johnson probably won’t be fined.”
What? I assume we’re talking the chalkboard gesture.
Does that mean that the NFL only levies fines if the infraction is shown on TV?
That’s like saying “I’m only guilty if I’m caught.”
You know, like saying torture doesn’t occur until pictures of dogs attacking prisoners are revealed. Then evidence of waterboarding comes to light.
Thank the gods that the NFL isn’t a monoply!

Do you right-wing crackpots realize there is more to running the country than taxes? Sorry if I want to stray away from voting for a party whose main faces have been profitting from the war in iraq. Also, if you haven’t noticed there is welfare under the republican administration too. However I do feel so sorry for those making 250k+ who are going to have trouble making their jaguar payments. empty13: if you got a call from a pollster you must be unemployed huh?

I thought it was appropriate tocall you by a different name because I didn’t like what you said……..seems fair don’t it?
I think you’re the one with no clue.
They aren’t complaining about higher taxes……why complain for them?
