COLTS-STEELERS ONE-LINERS

Colts QB Peyton Manning threw for 240 yards and three touchdowns against a Steelers pass defense that ranked first in the league coming into the game.
Said Manning of some of his passes bouncing off Steelers’ players hands, “They’ve been going the other way, so it was nice to have a couple of them bounce our way.”
Pittsburgh lost to a Manning-led team at home for the second time in three weeks.
Said Colts RB Dominic Rhodes, “You really find out the character of guys in games like these.”
The Steelers held Colts RB Joseph Addai to 34 yards on 12 carries.
Said Colts CB Keiwan Ratliff, “I’m living out my dream. Honestly, it’s still like Christmas.”
Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger made some big mistakes but wouldn’t blame them on his ailing shoulder.
The Steelers no longer have a safe lead in the AFC North.
Said Colts coach Tony Dungy, “We’ve got a chance now to get on a streak.”
The Colts’ run defense is looking good.

Congrats Colts fans. I hated to see my guys lose this one but your guys made the plays that counted.

Ben might now want to blame his shoulder but i will! They should not have played him he looked like shit, if it wasn’t his shoulder even worse especially after his comment that he had “been playing subpar football”. They should have at least given gary coleman a go, he couldnt have done worse!

Something’s not right with Roethlisberger. He couldn’t throw the ball downfield and his outs were dying. Even the deep pass to Ward had to be fielded like a punt.

As a baltimore fan, it was hard to root for the indianapolis colts, but then again, any squealers loss is a good thing – Why let Ben play was beyond me. especially after the way byron was heaving the ball around against the skins . . .

(Said Colts RB Dominic Rhodes, “You really find out the character of guys in games like these.”)
You also find out about the lack of depth the Colts have, huh Florio?
errr wait a minute, the backups were the stars of the game!
You might have to reevaluate your “topics to bash the Colts on” Florio. They’re making a liar out of you.

” Why let Ben play was beyond me. especially after the way byron was heaving the ball around against the skins . . . ”
Because Fat Albert can’t beat the Colts, either.

  7. Gene Boumenot says: Nov 10, 2008 12:23 PM

Ben blew this one big time!

  8. Frank Burns says: Nov 10, 2008 12:38 PM

Find out about “character”? More like you find out the amazing fluke rabbit’s foot TDs a QB can have. Like when Ike Taylor turns an easy interception into a cheap 6 going the other way.
A healthy Roeth beats the Colts. Fat Albert beats the Colts yesterday too. Let’s not kid ourselves here.

Bad shoulder or not, Ben made a horrible decision late in the 2nd quarter. Try to take a 10 point to the half, especially with Indy getting the ball off the 3rd quarter kick off.
His shoulder may be banged up, but his decision to throw there cost them the game. The way the defense was playing, you run on third down, punt and try to hold the Colts to three points tops.
He’s looking for too many big plays. It’s not helping to have FWP out, but he just cannot make that throw backed up in his own territory with a lead. Who does he think he is, Brett Favre?

  10. Frank Burns says: Nov 10, 2008 2:54 PM

For all the Ben bashing going on, truth is Manning was the one who threw the worst pass o’ the day. If Polamalu doesn’t have hair gel on his hands he’s taking that one back for 6. That makes it 24-7 and game over. (Actually 24-0 since Manning got away with a cheesy TD off the Ike Taylor gift.)
Difference in this game was the Colts held onto Ben’s picks. The Steelers didn’t do the same for Manning.
Bottom line: Colts were rabbit’s foot lucky.

Thing is, Ben is not playing well. Instead of having a set and sitting Ben, the coaching staff let him play and now the Colts very well could be back in the playoff race thanks to Ben’s poor play. I am not saying the entire loss is on Ben, but he should not have been out there. Ike Taylor has to know to knock that ball down instead of trying to be cute and Troy has to hang on to the ball. However, Ben’s INTs were just crippling. He has been in the league 5 years and should be much more advanced than this. He should not be making rookie mistakes like this. Making rookie mistakes got Drew Bledsoe benched and led the way for the Tony Romo era.

  12. Steelers-Shaun says: Nov 10, 2008 5:44 PM

Did you notice manning making adjustments almost every play when he read our D ? Be nice if ben did that. Holding the ball trying to make the highlight reel every play isn’t going to cut it when your not even 100%. 2 to 3 step drops or he’s dead before playoff

Excuses, excuses. Spin it any which way you’d like Steelers’ fans, but the truth is that one of your greatest weaknesses is at the most important position on the field. And Ben is just good enough to keep the team from searching for a replacement in the coming years, but just bad enough to never take them deep into the playoffs, except ofcourse if the team adds a few refs to the pay roll, again (see Super Bowl XL).

  14. Steelers-Shaun says: Nov 10, 2008 7:53 PM

now your going to run superbowl XL smack? give that shit a rest already i don’t hear anyone talking about how the refs robbed bettis when we played the cowboys in the superbowl! we would have one anyway so cry like a little baby!

  15. Bmore Styles says: Nov 10, 2008 8:44 PM

    Steelers-Shaun:
I was not “crying”, simply pointing out a vastly shared opinion by mostly everyone, not located in the Pitt area. Based on your reaction, you’re the one crying like a baby kiddo, you obviously find some truth in my claim, or else you wouldn’t have justified it with such a passionate and immature response. Don’t be the typical Steelers fan, stray away from the stereotype, speak with some intellect and class, though coming from Pittsburgh i know these concepts are foreign to your simple means of thinking. BaaaaaaaZING!? I kid, it’s not really your fault. We don’t choose where we’re from.

  16. Steelers-Shaun says: Nov 10, 2008 9:19 PM

bazzzing ? i kid ? ok triumph the insult douche dog. Your boring so go ahead and get your last word in after this and shit on the burgh some more because your team sucks and your pissed your seasons over. have fun loser im done with ya!

  17. Bmore Styles says: Nov 10, 2008 9:38 PM

    Steelers-Shaun:
I was quoting Family Guy, not Triumph the insult dog. Typical Steelers fan, you realize that i’ve posed good points, so instead of agreeing or even attempting to debate the facts, you resort to immature insults. Let’s break down the rest of your comment… My team sucks? Well friend, my team owned yours for all but 15 seconds, beating you in every statistical category and we are currently tied with your team in the first place position. Our season is over? We have won 4 games in a row, 3 on the road (you’ve lost 2/3), our Rookie QB progresses every game, and we have outplayed every opponent except for 1 this year (Indy). Please, don’t leave…. your idiocy amuses me, my inbred friend.

There’s a reason Baltimore has an inferiority complex. Your insistence on proving its existence is entertaining.

    mrmagoo:
Talk about inferiority complex, i simply made a good point, stated an opinion held by the majority of those not living in Pittsburgh, by no means did i make any insulting remark towards Steelers’ fans, and yet you interpreted it as a personal attack. Talk about insecurity, and inferiority complex. Furthermore, don’t stand up for an idiot Pitt fan who clearly said some very stupid things and i was simply calling him out on it. I dont hate Steelers fans, i hate stupid Steelers fans. I know, i know, now i’m just splitting hairs. Read what i said, then read what you said, now think about who feels inferior, friend.

Bmore im not going to “debate” with you because your comments are “Idiocy” see ….. “but the truth is that one of your greatest weaknesses is at the most important position on the field. And Ben is just good enough to keep the team from searching for a replacement in the coming years, but just bad enough to never take them deep into the playoffs”…… That is a MORONIC statement for a true idot like yourself. When is Flacco going to get arrested for something so he can really be part of the team? Did ray give him a custom shank?

    You make no sense.
    Steelers-Shaun:
As much as you’d like to suggest that the Ravens are full of “thugs”, the truth of the matter is that the Steelers are far ahead of us on the Turd List. You have far more players involved with the law than us. Besides, when you call our players “Thugs”, we really know you mean, ‘those players you wish you had’. My statement is not moronic at all, it’s a very accurate depiction of the situation, and if you’re going to use my word, ‘idiocy’ try to use it in the right context. Look at my messages, then yours, i out class you as much as Bmore does Pitt, and your intellect?…. Well who am i kidding, you have no intellect.

Keep trying to convice yourself you’re not a dumbass because your failing to convince anyone else.
Notice how the post above this one that is actually about the Ravens has 4 posts in it and it’s 4 Ravens fans jerking each other off for beating the Texans? Notice how the Steelers thread is full of you guys trying so hard to be noticed? It’s your inferiority complex.

Several things came very clear to me regarding the Colt game. Our db’s & safety are not good making turn overs when the opportunies present itself, Ben needs to sit down to heal & he can’t read defense, the OC looks better in Cleveland and Tomlin needs a reality check. His post comments consist of silly excuses for all the kunckle head play callings.
