JETS STICKING IT TO PATS

It’s still early, but the New York Jets are currently administering an open-palmed butt-whupping to the Patriots.
After a 92-yard kickoff return for a touchdown by Leon Washington of the Jets, New York leads 17-6.
It’s Washington’s second touchdown of the game; he scored on a short pass from Brett Favre on the team’s first drive of the game.
During the pregame coverage on NFL Network, Adam Schefter suggested that Washington will be clamoring for a new contract after the season.  Currently signed through 2009, Washington is earning a base salary of $445,000 this year, and he will make $530,000 next season.
And if there’s no salary cap in 2010, Washington will not be eligible for unrestricted free agency.

Can someone explain to me why people are saying Cassel has won himself a starting job next season? He is AWFUL on any pass over 15 yards. Just awful. He has no touch and can’t get it within 10 feet of a receiver. All of this while in the best possible situation (great offensive line, welker, Moss, Watson). How do you think he’d do without a buttload of pro-bowlers around him??

This is ugly. What a terrible excuse for a defense.

I’m not sure which is more impressive, that amazing one-handed catch Cotchery just made or the awesomely horrific pass interference that Ellis Hobbs was laying on him while he did it.

Can someone tell the play-by-play guy on NFLN that he is not calling a baseball game? He is putting me to sleep every time he speaks.
WTF, NFLN? Is it that hard to get a decent announcer? Gumbel and this schmo are 2 of the worst I have ever heard. – No, I am not speaking of Collingsworth.

With all the whining about pass interference, I know Cassell will be a great QB.

If Washington thinks he can push MangIdiot around and force him to extend his contract he’s in for a surpri…. oh wait, it’s MangIdiot we’re talking about.
Washington’s new contract is as good as done… and if its not Washington will force MangIdiot to trade him.
