CAREY TELLS BUCS AND VIKES TO COOL IT

FOX’s Chris Myers reports from the sidelines of the Vikings-Bucs game that referee Mike Carey has told both teams to cool it with the hits after the whistle. Myers initially characterized it as a “warning” late in the first half, but then Carey told Myers during intermission that it wasn’t quite that strong. Basically, the message to the coachings staffs was to control their player so that Carey doesn’t have to. In the second quarter, Vikings defensive end Ray Edwards put a horribly late hit on Bucs quarterback Jeff Garcia, as MDS pointed out in a previous post.
