Cowboys corner Terrance Newman didn’t practice today because he injured his groin during Thursday’s session. According to Jerry Jones, his status for Sunday’s game against the 49ers is up in the air.
“He’s working through that and we didn’t want him to push off on it,” Jones said.
Jones also said that Newman’s injury is not related to the sports hernia surgery that caused him to miss five of the last six games. He returned against the Redskins last Sunday night and made seven tackles and an interception. The Cowboys allowed just 10 points in the game, and allowed an average of 26 in the five games that Newman missed after his surgery.

Thanks Coach Jones! Why don’t you just give the 49ers your gameplan while you’re at it!
