Chris Mortesen of ESPN reports that Jets quarterback Erik Ainge is the previously unknown eighth player who tested positive for a banned diuretic.
But, per Mort, Ainge didn’t take StarCaps. Instead, he took a diuretic he obtained from his girlfriend.
So the confirmation of the four-game suspension doesn’t necessarily mean that the StarCappers will lose their appeals.

Serious question here…
Why are all these football players taking diuretics? Why would they want to lose weight and/or be underhydrated? I would think a football player would want to pack a little extra weight.
Or is this just a cover for them taking illegal steroids?
I would imagine that they’re probably using them as masking agents. Hence the reason such substances are banned.
