Though the Baltimore Ravens are leading the Pittsburgh Steelers by six points late in their Week Fifteen four-field-goal encouter, we’ve all seen on several occasions this season the Steelers sputter on offense for most of a game, and then put it all together and pull out a victory.
And so we’re now on the lookout for the Steelers to do something to win this one.
The stakes are very high. With the Titans losing today, which drops their record to 12-2, the Steelers at 10-3 control their own destiny for home-field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs.
If the Steelers win out, they’ll end up no worse that 13-3 — and they’ll at worst win the tiebreaker with the Titans.

STEELERS HAVE MORE MAGIC UP THEIR SLEEVES?

I’ll freely admit I don’t know all the finer nuances of NFL tiebreakers… but I wonder if you’re jumping the gun a bit here.
How exactly would a 13-3 Steelers team take precedence over a two-loss (14-2) Titans team? (Assuming both teams were to win out)
Is W-L record not the first determinant of home-field advantage?
“If the Steelers win out, they’ll end up no worse that 13-3 — and they’ll at worst win the tiebreaker with the Titans.”
I don’t understand this sentence. Shouldn’t it read: If the Steelers win out, they’ll end up at 13-3 – and they’ll win the tiebreaker with the Titans.
I don’t know if they have the magic today. Ben’s passes haven’t been the sharpest, and Holmes is not having a good game. I haven’t heard Heinz Ward’s name much.
Its because the Steelers play the Titans next week

Steelers and Titans play each other so they can’t both win out
(Assuming both teams were to win out)
Both teams play next week. They can’t both win out.
we beat the steelers, but we couldn’t beat the refs.
Steeler’s first scoring drive, they didn’t make the 3rd down conversion, and they got away with a blatant delay of game on a crucial 3rd down conversion. I know the league hates the Ravens, but it’s getting ridiculous. I’m not gonna hate on the Steelers, they played a great, clean game, and i respect their effort today….but the Refs were out to get us.
if pitt wins out tenn can’t go 14-2 Tuna, cause pitt plays tenn next week

D’oh. Brain cramp. Should’ve checked the sked–thanks for setting me straight.
@Bmore Styles
Ravens were taking the play clock to double zero a couple times too. Both teams got away with a few.
BTW, if you’re gonna complain about the ref’s, how about all the holding calls on Adam Terry…oh wait, they missed all of those.
Anyway, it was an AWESOME game. I was getting real skeptical, the Raven’s punter/special teams coverage was immaculate. Pittsburgh was lucky to overcome it.
Rule 32-a-e: If both feet are in the endzone and a player has possession of the football the play will be ruled a touchdown even if the ball isn’t across the plane of the endzone.
The refs have been inconsistent on delay of game. watch Indy games. They rarely call Peyton on that. In fact, Steelers got away with a couple of delay of games in the Dallas game. But Ravens fans cant complain. The most blatant hold by an offensive lineman was the guy holding Harrison prior to a long pass play in the second half. I believe that led to a FG drive for the Ravens.
Pea Tear Griffin:
The Refs were horrible all day…. You’re completely right that Harrison was getting held a lot. But you guys got the more significant, game changing calls, that were reviewed, and they still got wrong, there’s no excuse for that. Especially the 3rd down conversion in the 1st Quarter. And everywhere i look, even on the Sunday Night Game’s halftime, the top subject was the bad referring. Same with the local news. So i’m not the only one saying this. Great game by both teams, but i feel as though i’m justified in my assertions.
On a side note, how many elderly Steeler fans do you think we’ve lost in the 4th quarter this year? I wish they’d play a little offense in the first 3 quarters.
