I don’t know where the Browns stand with Quinn, but to be fair, he only played in, what was it, 10 quarters?
His first start against Denver–the game you mention he played average in. I seem to recall most folks believed he held his own in that game for his first career start.
His second start in Buffalo–where he broke the finger on his throwing hand in the first quarter.
And did he make it to the third quarter of the next game, trying to play through the broken finger injury?
He may turn out to be awful, he may not. But it’s foolish to judge the kid on a game and a half of playing with a piece of his fingertip cracked off and a tendon damaged badly enough to require season-ending surgery.

See – this is why I was rolling my eyes last week when people were acting like what Jason Whitten (allegedly) did was SO unusual. “Snitching” from within the team ranks goes on all the time. Some of PFT’s best scoops have come from team snitches – such as when PFT broke Chad Johnson’s legendary display of hypomania at halftime of that Bengals-Steelers playoff game.

I hate being a Browns fan, and after living in Charlotte for 3 years, I can see little reason I should keep devoting my time and money (gotta pay to see them in NC) to a terrible product.

Maybe Floyd Reese did leak this story because to start with the date is wrong. Last Monday the 15th the Browns were busy in Philly not getting any first downs, they certainly weren’t in Cleveland beating each other up

The Browns must really be disenchanted with Quinn.
Can you imagine what would happen to a d lineman in Indy if he punched Manning?
Or in New England if he punched Brady?
When you hit your qb and management doesn’t show you the door, that qb is on shaky ground.
It certainly looks like all those teams that passed on Quinn knew exactly what they were doing.
