In a season in which the Denver Broncos have lost a slew of running backs for the season due to injury, Sunday’s loss to the Bills saw two more tailback go down for the rest of the year, according to the Denver Post.
Selvin Young ruptured a disk in his neck, and P.J. Pope popped a hamstring.  Both will be placed on injured reserve.
In all, seven running backs have been placed on IR by the Broncos — Young, Pope, Andre Hall, Ryan Torain, Michael Pittman, Peyton Hillis, and Anthony Alridge.
Coach Mike Shanahan said on Monday that Alex Haynes and Cory Boyd will be re-signed to the active roster.
So, in other words, Boyd is back . . . back like cooked crack.

Did Tampa release Boyd from IR? Last checked Boyd was stashed in Tampa on their IR.

Before any of you morons suggest this Sunday will be Shanahan’s last day coaching for the Broncos, remember this: who ya gonna go get? You really want Bill Cowher? You think Bill Cowher is better than Shanahan? He isn’t. And that fatso Wade Phillips will be available…you want him? He wasted two years of Elway’s career.
Point is, winning in this league is tough. Who could have predicted these injuries? And remember that dancing on the Chargers logo ruined L.T.’s career.

    Come on Florio-
He’s just quoting the Juelz Santana song! Please just don’t call for a full out investigation of him (like you did the Surrey County DA), the Broncos need have at least one running back this weekend!

You have got to be kidding me?!?
At what point does the finger point to the training staff? Injuries happen. But has any team in the last 3 years lost so many man-games to injury?
    What a joke.

Denver is where RBs go to die.

    Emmitt and Edgerin disagree.

It’s a ploy for Shanahan to keep his job, right? 🙂

Shanahan had the Broncos playing well prior to all the RB injuries. How would the Giants or Titans be doing if they had lost all their running backs? Shanahan has earned another chance.
Then again, Denver could always hire Marshall Faulk to be head coach and starting running back. Hey, Bill Russell won championships as a player coach.

Going on IR has replaced 1,000 yard season as the thing to do for Bronco RBs.

They must not be cut-blocking very well this year. They need Alex Gibbs back.
