With coach Rod Marinelli gone, the Lions already have commenced the process of finding his replacement.
According to Adam Schefter of NFL Network, the Lions have requested permission to interview Redskins secondary-cornerbacks coach Jerry Gray.
Gray played for the Rams, Oilers, and Buccaneers, and he has worked for the Titans and Bills.  He previously served as defensive coordinator in Buffalo.

This is a token rooney rule interview, matt millen is still working behind the scenes, you watch, they’ll probably hire another coach with the last name that starts with a “M”, he will be caucasian, and have a background with the west coast offense.

Yeah, I mean that makes complete sense. Perfect! After going 0-16 you should defeintely go out and hire a guy that has never even been a head coach just 2 of the last 3 guys you have hired, given 3 seasons, then fired.
The only people that should be on their list without any experience are Spagnuolo from the Giants and Josh McDaniel from the Patriots.
Otherwise: Brian Billick, Jim Hasslett, Jim Fassell and those with head coaching experience.

Sounds like a Rooney Rule candidate. Not that the Lions would do anything like that.

    way to sell tickets.
They should bring back Wayne Fontes. Is he alive? At least he got to the playoffs. Sure he was riding Barry Sanders’ back to the endzone, but he got it done.

Hmmm good choice……only 9 more straight losses and they will tie the Buc’s with their 26 straight losses record – with 10 losses…. new territory that only a Ford could achieve.
