BILLS SAFETY LETS US RE-SET THE METER

The New Year truly hasn’t started until an NFL player has been arrested.
And so, thanks to Bills safety Ko Simpson, 2009 officially has begun.
Early Thursday, Simpson was charged with hindering a police investigation.  Per the Rock Hill Herald (via SportingNews.com), Simpson was a passenger in a car that had been stopped for speeding through a parking lot by police investigating a possible assault at a bar.
Simpson began arguing with police and refused to leave the area, repeatedly saying, “I’m Ko Simpson with the Buffalo Bills. I am worth millions!”
Actually, Simpson is worth perhaps hundreds of thousands, assuming he hasn’t pissed most of the money away.  Selected in round four of the 2006 draft, Simpson’s base salary in 2008 was only $445,000.

What if he and Jamal Lewis have gone into “business” together? Then he might very well be worth millions.

Dude, no one has ever even heard of you until your dumb ass got arrested. What a loser!

  3. smirish says: Jan 2, 2009 3:48 PM

what is it with the Buffalo Bills, players with the last name Simpson, and first names with 2 letters?

  4. reddog says: Jan 2, 2009 3:48 PM

Ko doesn’t need to worry as the Ills organization doesn’t believe in accountability, so his roster spot should be safe….afterall, I am sure he loves Mauron like the rest of his teammates b/c Mauron is such a pushover……if Mauron held is players accountable for their actions and play, then Ko would be a special teamer or working at UPS……..

Considering how the DA handled the Marshawn Lynch Hit-and-Run this will probably be plead down to an unpaid parking ticket.

  6. empty13 says: Jan 2, 2009 3:51 PM

rotflmao – “i am worth millions!”
one would think that someone worth so much (eye roll) would be smart enough to avoid such situations and learn how to stfu.

Ko Simpson invests in high interest long term CD’s as well as precious metals.

Did the case somehow get extradited to Buffalo from South Carolina, or did you just skip the article?

  14. GhostofBuffalo says: Jan 2, 2009 4:00 PM

ko was actually trying to flee the scene on foot…
he’s just so damn slow it seemed like he was still there hindering the investigation.
I wish he would’ve hindered a few WR’s from running past him constantly this year.

  15. Favre2012 says: Jan 2, 2009 4:01 PM

At least it’s a classic story.

  16. vincelombardi says: Jan 2, 2009 4:03 PM

  19. PackAttack says: Jan 2, 2009 4:15 PM

    HAAAAA
Yeah cops love hearing that shit. I’m sure that endeared them right to the Ko-meister.

  20. texasPHINSfan says: Jan 2, 2009 4:20 PM

rofl seriously? he REALLY dropped the “do you know who i am?/I am worth MILLIONS!” line?
what a douche. knowing how buffalo players get dealt with, if marshawn can be involved in a hit and run without repurcussion, i’m guessing this only gets a slap on the wrist.

  21. 78thballothalloffamer says: Jan 2, 2009 4:23 PM

Well, if you compare him to other Bills named Simpson, he’s practically Gandhi

  22. bobinpr says: Jan 2, 2009 4:29 PM

The Buffalo Bills are nothing but a bunch of pathetic losers on the field, so it is no surprise that they all constantly are getting arrested for a variety of offenses. If Commissioner Goodell was not from Western New York himself, Marshawn Lynch might have been suspended for a year or more, since what he did (nearly killing a women) was far worse than anything Pacman Jones ever did. Hopefully when the team is moved out of Buffalo in the next couple of years, the players will not benefit from special treatment by the NFL.

Dude, even if I did, in ten years, maybe even as little as two, no one will remember who the hell you were. You think anybody remembers the starting safeties when the Bills were in the SB???
So remember that when you join Curtis Enis on the third shift at a garage door manufacturing company, you idiot.

  26. George C says: Jan 2, 2009 4:47 PM

    Millions… What a joke.

  34. roscoeparrishfan1994 says: Jan 2, 2009 6:32 PM

maybe now the bills will release the idiot and realize george wilson is a way better play maker. wats Ko Simpsons career game? 1 tackle and a almost pass defence?

  35. screaming sheep says: Jan 2, 2009 6:40 PM

Ya see Ko, that might have helped a little if you were say in Buffalo when you did it. But unless by some chance the cops in Rock Hill South Carolina are Bills fans, I don’t think it will get you very far.
    I’ve already forgoten his name.

  36. EskinSux says: Jan 2, 2009 6:41 PM

I’ve always lurked on PFT, but this post actually inspired me to finally register.
Someone harboring a bit of resentment? While I am by no means defending the Lynch hit and run, if I’m not mistaken, Pacman’s “making it rain” incident resulted someone being paralyzed, although he was not the shooter. The hit and run victim sustained minor injuries. I’d say that they’re pretty much a wash.
Maybe you should actually read into the alleged incidents before declaring that what Lynch did was ‘far worse’ than anything Pacman ever did. Both incidents are pretty bad.
Nice to see another uneducated, overly-opinionated NFL fan, and a typical Bills-hater at that.

    Does it really matter?
We all know what Buffalo does with Bills players that are arrested – Nothing.
Not sure about Columbia, S.C. Although lately it seems virtually all jurisdictions go very easy on NFL players.
Since it is in S.C. he might get off totally if it was his first “official” brush with the law there.
Does it really matter? Just another NFL player arrested might be the first for 2009.

Bob, Lynch’s “victim” had a bruise and a total of a few (very few) stitches–not exactly “nearly killing a women” (sic). Cameras and third party witnesses also showed that Lynch’s car acted as if it did not know he’d hit anyone (ie., he didn’t slow down or stop and look and then speed off, but simply continued smoothly on his way through the intersection where this happened (at 3:30 am on a dark and rainy night no less). Take your irrationality elsewhere–we ain’t buying here.
I also seem to recall you being a Pats* fan–if I’m correct on that, isn’t there a bit of irony of you accusing other teams’ players of special treatment from the League, since everyone knows that it’s the Pats* (and ‘pokes) who the League seems to love and who are the largest beneficiaries by far of League (and its officials’) largesse…..
