The new Broncos defensive staff has a real AFC West flavor.
Said Mel Kiper Jr., “The Chiefs will have to at least look closely at [USC QB Mark] Sanchez with that third pick if they’ve decided they won’t stick with Tyler Thigpen. It’s true the Vikings didn’t play against a 3-4 all season but they sure did last year when they played the Chargers and that worked out well for the Vikes and AP…

Jason Peters election to the Pro Bowl was and still is a Joke.

Kiper needs to take a look at the correlation between college starts and NFL success for QB’s before he keeps pushing Sanchez.

As a Bills fan, I have to say that I agree 100%. Peters had a TERRIBLE season. I believe he led all Offensive Tackles in sacks-allowed this year. How he got elected to the pro-bowl is beyond me.

Leroy Hill is a good player but let’s be honest, playing next to Lofa Tatupu and Julian Peterson made him look better.
And as for the Redskins, the story is the same as always. They spend poorly in free agency, but they still lack a big wide receiver for Jason Campbell and a good pair of defensive tackles. In all honesty, this team might not be missing much more than that.
How about some rumor mongering: Anquan Boldin to the Washington Redskins for a 1st and a 3rd?

Does anyone (other than the flunkies on ESPN, the sports tabloid network) give a damn about what Mel Kiper Jr. has to say?
    I thought so…

I’m seriously considering not watching the draft on ESPN ever again. Everybody is a great pick who’ll be a Pro Bowler forever. Is the NFL Network any better?

    Jake Longgg!

  14. whuteva says: Jan 21, 2009 2:45 PM

@ Kevin, the NFL Network is alright, except that Adam Schefter (sp?) pops in about 20 seconds b4 the pick is announced to tell you who’s gonna get picked . . .they should try to limit that this year.

  15. NYBearsFan says: Jan 21, 2009 2:53 PM

    Kevin From Philly,
TONS better. They let it happen there and you don’t have to listen to that fat POS Berman hootin and hollerin.
Mike Mayock knows his shit too.

  16. MaineMan says: Jan 21, 2009 3:48 PM

So, Kiper thinks KC will need to take a serious look at Sanchez with their 1st round pick?
That means, of course, KC won’t come even close to selecting Sanchez. Got to be a relief to Thigpen to her Kiper say that.
BTW – I refuse to watch the draft on either TV venue on Day Two. Just a bunch of idiots talking to hear themselves and completely missing the trades and the actual picks. IOW, typical television “coverage” of the NFL.
Much better to follow along online just about anywhere.
