There’s a strange and unusual dynamic at play regarding Super Bowl XLIII, completely unrelated to the ability of Steelers nose tackle Casey Hampton to continue to fit into his game pants without having them split like the seed capsule of a touch-me-not.
For the first time since caretaker Trent Dilfer “led” the Ravens to a Super Bowl appearance and eventual victory, a starting quarterback in the NFL’s title game will become a free agent within a month after the clock strikes zero.
And no one’s talking much about it.

    It’s not a big story because everyone knows he’s not going anywhere.
    He’s either retiring, or they’ll re-sign him.
    Leinart will have to wait another year.
