LIONS SNAGGING SHACK HARRIS

As expected, the Lions will be beefing up their front office. According to the Detroit Free Press, the Lions will hire former Jaguars V.P. of player personnel James “Shack” Harris as a personnel executive. The team claims that it’s not a done deal. “That is a premature report. We have nothing to announce or confirm,” the Lions said in a statement. Other candidates reportedly included former Browns G.M. Phil Savage and former Broncos G.M. Ted Sundquist. Harris “resigned” from the Jaguars late in the 2008 season, after nearly six years on the job. In Detroit, he would presumably report to G.M. Martin Mayhew.
