LANE MIGHT SOON BE LONGING FOR OAKLAND

Former Raiders coach Lane Kiffin is having a bumpy right in Knoxville.
Apart from the fact that his effort to hire his dad might have destroyed the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ 2008 season, Lane has picked a knife fight while wielding a spork.
Specifically, Kiffin has accused Florida coach Urban Meyer of breaking NCAA recruiting rules.
But, as it turns out, Kiffin was wr-wr-wr-wr-messed up in the head.
And Florida is letting him know about it.

Kiffin is in for a rude awakening, Al Davis’ bashing of this guy will be justified soon. He is a snake and everyone will see it in time.

Did Kiffin catch being batshit crazy from Al Davis? Is that contagious now?

  3. CaptainFantastik says: Feb 5, 2009 4:01 PM

Didn’t look like the Vols did that well on signing day either. I have nothing against Kiffin, but the way to go in the SEC is to shut up and do your talking on the field.
And nothing can change the fact that Al Davis is the problem in Oakland. 5 head coaches in 7 years. Enough said. As long as he lives the Raiders will never again surpass 6 or 7 wins in a season and players will continue avoiding that place like the plague.

Lane is going to love watching Urban stare him down across the field while the Gators hang 50+ on hthe Vols. Urban doesn’t like to call off the dogs anyway but now Lane went and made it personal.

Kiffin is just making up for lost time where Spurrier used to bash the Vols a lot.

  6. mikemboston says: Feb 5, 2009 4:31 PM

Not exactly the start the Volunteers were looking for…rule of thumb; know the rules before you open your yapper!!

  7. ForceFed240 says: Feb 5, 2009 4:33 PM

I think the entire state of Florida hates Lane now.

  8. Vols84 says: Feb 5, 2009 4:40 PM

Oh please…Urban myer is a jerk. Kiffin is not going to take it like Fulmer did. For years, Spurrier always took potshots at Fulmer and he never reacted. There is a new sheriff in Knoxville and he has a star studded coaching staff. I like it that our new coach won’t stand for it. Now why would he be longing for Oakland?

Okay. We all take it back. Lane was the douche and Al was right.

  10. sasquatchbudman says: Feb 5, 2009 4:52 PM

Could Kiffin have done this to stoke the Tenn. Florida rivalry? He may be a moron and he may be lighting a fire. It used to be one heck of a battle when those two teams laced them up.

maybe kiffins wife needs to show recruits around, they would be too busy oogling her to answer a phone. p.s. kiffin has all ready apologized,whoop-dee-doo

The rest of the world is just starting to find out what Raider fans have known for some time.
Lame cannot be trusted, it’s all about him and daddy, nobody else.

  13. CaptainFantastik says: Feb 5, 2009 5:10 PM

A quote from the AD in the CFT piece:
“His comments not only slandered our coach, but he violated SEC rules by publicly criticizing another coach and institution.”
If that’s true then wouldn’t Steve Spurrier be in violation as well for what he said about Kiffin when he first got there?

  14. NR4 says: Feb 5, 2009 5:19 PM

What a douche bag thou art, Wayne Kiffin.

  15. JSpicoli says: Feb 5, 2009 5:34 PM

For those of still blinded by your ignorant hatred of AD, Kiffin was the insolent, spoiled, silver spooner that thinks he is smarter than he is. Now that be is butting heads with one of your idols u see him for the charlatan that he is.

Why is this funny? Oh yeah! I remember! It’s funny because Lane was a poor, innocent victim when Al fired him, and he was really just trampled under the wheels of the evil emperor for no apparent reason, and BLAH, BLAH, BLAH.
Face facts – he got booted for a reason, and it wasn’t because he wouldn’t run Al’s plays. It was because he was a s**t-talking little bitch who needs to grow up and stop acting like a damn baby.
Best move Al Davis made last year, hands down.
And everyone keeps ragging on the coaching changes over the last several years, but the fact remains that there are a lot of teams in the NFL that bail water after a coach does bad. We just seem to have run into a string of worthless coaches after Chucky.

Hey Lane! Nice kick from 70 yards out.

  19. robertamberg says: Feb 5, 2009 6:59 PM

Could crazy Al have been right? Wow.

  20. Shackman says: Feb 5, 2009 7:46 PM

Much ado o’er nothing. You really think Urban Meyer sweats anything that might dribble out of Lane Kiffin’s mouth?

  21. Shackman says: Feb 5, 2009 8:09 PM

And I forgot to add, Florio, please get rid of the stomach fat ad!!! I just about lost my linguine with clam sauce after looking that picture. You get enough unique page views the way it is, don’t you?

Hey Lane! Nice kick from 70 yards out.
    ====================================================
The best part about his decision to try a 70 yard FG was that he had a timeout in his pocket AND DIDN’T USE IT, until he drained the clock.
There was roughly 30 seconds on the clock after a pass completion and he actually ran the clock down, THEN called the timeout.
The week before, the Bills went deep into Raider territory and drained the clock before kicking the winning FG.
    The only problem?
Lame went home with 2 timeouts in his pocket.
Everybody is so quick to dump on Al Davis but really, this guy HAD to go.

  23. John Cittebart says: Feb 6, 2009 8:10 AM

Urban Meyers seems to be a sensity guy. According to the article, Kiffin didn’t say Meyers violation any rules.
The word “cheat” is open to interpretation.

Oh please, Florida was going to crush them this season anyway. Does anyone else get the feeling that Florida is trying to hide something? Obviously they want to protect their coach, but such a defensive and strong response suggests to me that they don’t want Kiffin sniffing around their recruiting anymore.
