STEELERS NEGOTIATING WITH HARRISON

The Pittsburgh Steelers are actively working on a multi-year contract extension for Pro Bowl outside linebacker James Harrison, according to James Walker of ESPN.com
Per Walker, the Steelers have been negotiating with the NFL Defensive Player of the Year’s agent, Bill Parise, as often as twice daily.
Harrison recorded 16 sacks, seven forced fumbles and 101 tackles last season, also registering a dramatic 100-yard interception return for a touchdown in the Super Bowl, but was paid only a $1.2 million base salary.
“It’s been a very open process, and it’s going about the way you would expect,” Parise said.  “So I think everything is moving along.
“Certainly the Steelers didn’t win six Super Bowls by not knowing what they’re doing.  I’m sure they understand exactly what they have and where they’re going with James’ situation.”
Harrison is signed through 2009, at a base salary of $1.4 million.  Absent an extension either of his contract or the Collective Bargaining Agreement, he’ll be eligible for unrestricted free agency in the uncapped year of 2010.

James….we have to say, here at the Steelers front office, we have done many contracts over the years that included HGH…buy really, do you really need yours in a Pez dispenser????? Ahh, who are we to question that, it has worked for you thus far…..

The man deserves to get paid. Period.

$1.2 million!!!! This is why the Steelers organization is awesome.
Undrafted free agent to special teams monster to defensive player of the year.
Joey Porter was good, but James Harrison is the real deal.
It doesnt hurt to have Lamar Woodley on the other side w/ Hampton, Smith, and Kiesel tying up blockers.
I’m sure some r-tards will talk about HGH and whatnot, but Harrison is a true rags to riches story.

I hope they get something done, as this had the potential to get ugly. He’s obviously outperformed his current deal. I’d guess that it will take 6/50ish with 20+ guaranteed. .
Doing a deal of that magnitude is risky cause Woodley will be up in 2 years and I think Lamarr’s going to be as good or better than James over the next 5 years.

no pay raise. but pay his hgh dealer more.
    that’s life in sixburhgh!

The Mighty Steelers defense will be OFF THE HOOK for several years to come!! I hope they have enough room for 3 or 4 more Lombardis while Harrison and Woodley are killing QB’s… :)

Awww…look at the pathetic, jealous haters like ravenmaniac & empty13…you sorry little bitches. 6 rings morons. Chew on that for a while. You little haters bore us Steeler fans. We laugh at your small minds and savor your envious and jealous whining. All you got is HGH garbage? Harrison schools your sorry team’s offensive lines all day long…must kill you that the Steelers have more SB rings than EVERYONE else!! Bwahahahahaha!!

  8. lichnor says: Feb 12, 2009 9:57 PM

“more SB rings than EVERYONE else!! ”
Hell, they have more rings in the last 4 years than their ENTIRE DIVISION has…..combined!!!!!!!!
    LOL!!!!!!

    stevelikesthesteelers,
James Harrison is 30, and I doubt the Steelers would do a deal until his is 36…oh wait, they did that with James Farrior through age 38…well…they SHOULDN’T sign him to age 36.

  10. roadkill says: Feb 12, 2009 10:36 PM

Yeah, Harrison should cover his tracks and murder his roid suppliers like Ray Ray did.

A-Rod could learn a thing or two from Harrison about how to not get caught cheating. A lifetime practice squad player to defensive player of the year… It just doesn’t happen. Not to mention he’s a thuggish piece of trash. Pay the man, Fixburgh!!!!!

If you keep posting things like this Mommy will take your computer privileges away. Right after she stops laughing her ass off at a Ravens fan calling anyone else’s player a ‘thuggish piece of trash’. Evidently working up from the practice squad does happen. Think of it as a dream, maybe the kind Ray Ray had in jail back in the day until the witnesses against him got amnesia. Maybe the Ravens will go on a Super Bowl winning streak. If that were to happen then 5 years from now when you’ve pulled even you could post stuff like this and not look like a jealous little bitch. But you’d still be one.

………….So as long as it is a steeler on HGH it is ok.
That is what I have learned from these boards.
Everyone else it is cheating, Steelers it is just a part of the black and gold.
    Ok got it.

Flacco threw a real nice pass to Polamalu in the AFC championship game. Shades of Appalachian State? Blue Hen Power!
    Pittsburgh wins another championship.
    Baltimore is a war zone.

Allow me to address the true root cause of your issue.
I’m sorry the Steelers won the Super Bowl and that it’s eating you up inside. Actually I’m not sorry, I’m just trying to help you move on.

Hey, maybe Harrison could come out with his arm in a sling like T-Sissy over in Baltimore did — you know, drum up some sympathy and make that new contract even fatter! Oh those drama queen Baltimore LBs, you gotta love ‘em!

So what you’re saying is no one but Blue Chip prospects and top 5 draft picks could be successful in the NFL? Funny, I bet Tom Brady, Kurt Warner, Jim Leonhard, Willie Parker, and countless other players would beg to differ.
And “thuggish piece of trash”? C’mon dude, you support Baltimore, they have just as many thugs as Pittsburgh.

  19. nfl hitstick says: Feb 13, 2009 12:04 PM

Ray Lewis is involved in a murder.
    VS.
James Harrison wants to take his child to a baptism.
    Who is a thug?
The entire linebacking core of the Ravens are drama queens. OOOOO a bounty on Hines Ward, my shoulder is hurt waaaaaa!!!, i do a silly little dance outside of the tunnel to fire my team up (ray lewis). No one is intimidated.

  20. sobo says: Feb 13, 2009 3:23 PM

Hey Raven loser, isn’t that the pot calling the kettle black with your accusations of James Harrison? I believe that we here in the Steel City still consider your star linebacker to be a MURDERER. Don’t you remember that little Super Bowl party he went to a few years back? Shut up and get over it. We are the BEST FRANCHISE IN THE NFL! 6 TIME SUPER BOWL CHAMPS… HERE WE GO…

I don’t agree with HGH on the issue but you sir are a hypocrite.

Baltimore fans are just jealous that we have THE BEST linebacking core in the NFL. When the time comes to get it done, the STEELERS come up to the plate, like in the AFC championship game. WE BEAT YOU GUYS 3 TIMES IN ONE YEAR, GET OVER IT. Im tired of baltimore fans saying James Harrison is on ‘roids. HE IS NOT, he is a beast because he had to work twice as hard as everyone else just to get noticed.
