REPORT: FORMER PANTHER DELOACH JAILED FOR ASSAULT

Ex-NFL cornerback Curtis Deloach, who most recently played for the Carolina Panthers, was arrested and charged for allegedly assaulting a female in North Carolina, according to the Associated Press. Per the report, the particulars of the incident haven’t been made public yet by law enforcement officials. The article didn’t indicate the age or the condition of the woman. As of Saturday morning, Deloach remained in the Mecklenburg County jail. Deloach, who was placed on injured reserve for the Panthers in 2007 after playing in six games, has previous stints with the New York Giants in 2004 and 2005 and played for the New Orleans Saints in 2006. He started 13 games for New York in 2005, recording a career-high 56 tackles and 11 pass deflections with one interception. Deloach was re-signed by the Panthers last year, but was released. A former undrafted free agent from North Carolina A&T, Deloach is listed at 6-foot-2, 214 pounds. According to NFL.com, he has 97 career tackles, one forced fumble and one interception.
