RAVENS DUMP MCALISTER

On the same day that the Jaguars released a first-round pick from the 1998 draft, the Ravens have done the same thing, albeit with less fanfare, to a first-rounder from the following year.
Per a league source, the Ravens have parted ways with cornerback Chris McAlister.
The move comes as little surprise, given that McAlister was due to earn base salaries of $8 million in each of the next three seasons.
McAlister played in only six games last season before hearing to the injured reserve list.  He was benched at one point by coach John Harbaugh after violating the team’s dress code.
The ten-year veteran was the first draft choice of the Brian Billick era.
UPDATE:  At 3:27 p.m. EST, we received an official announcement of the move via e-mail from the Ravens.

This bit of news has to be especially heartbreaking for the Steelers, Browns, and Bengals… they won’t get to burn his sorry ass twice a year each

Titans_Fan…dont forget the Colts and Marvin Harrison…Harrison absolutely torched him earlier last season.
It is a shame, he was a great corner when he wanted to play. He was used to camp cupcake run by Billick. When Harbaugh came in, Cmac didnt want to work so……..hit the road C-Mac and dont you come back no more..no more….no more…..no more…..

If Phil Savage was still in Cleveland, he’d be a Brown.

MW, I was thinking the same thing about Bodden.
    You are right..Rolle is next.
Go to sign Suggs, Leonard, and Brown.

Ravens CB’s were terrible last year, which is why Ed Reed had such a great year last year…he was always helping!
Samari Rolle should be next with McAllister signing with the Jets shortly

  17. Osterhouse says: Feb 16, 2009 4:36 PM

He will end up in the NFC North or AFC East

Not sure how I feel about this, C-Mac is one of my all time favorite Ravens but if he did some of things that have come out then I guess it was best for the team.

Gee, the ravens secondary is garbage WITH McAllister and were even worse when he went on IR. This is a stupid move. Great news for the rest of the AFC North. Couple that with atleast 1 or 2 linebacker’s leaving for big money and the ravens will be lucky to make the playoffs again for several years…

Worldchampion…..I wish you were right about Nnamdi Asomugha but I think they are going to franchise him….

And speaking of murder. Why settle a civil suit if you didnt do anything??
Blood from one of the victims was found in Lewis’ 40-foot limo. But Lewis was able to successfully portray himself as a peacemaker in the incident, and charges were dismissed in exchange for Lewis pleading guilty to a lesser charge of obstruction of justice and agreeing to testify against two acquaintances who were in the limo with him.
Four years later, Lewis also agreed to a cash settlement in a civil suit brought by the daughter and families of the two dead victims.

Attention….attention everyone…mrniceisondrugs has made a major breathrough in the murder case from 2000. He is asking some interesting questions…Ah no wait a minute….that was done years ago. I bet mrniceisonhgh is a Steelers fan….
Not only is he a brilliant investigator but he is an even better evaluator of talent…He says…

Wow, did you hear that..but wait wasnt the Ravens 2nd in the league on Pass D in 2008 with/without C-Mac?? You are right mrniceison, that is garbage…wow, what a genius!
I bet you he was talking in July 2008 how the Ravens would go the AFC Championship game with a rookie QB and head coach…brilliant…simply brilliant….
