ARREST EQUALS BIG TROUBLE FOR MARSHALL

We suspected that the decision of Commissioner Roger Goodell to reduce the suspension of receiver Brandon Marshall to one game carried with it a stern warning to avoid any potentially embarrassing situations. Adam Schefter of NFL Network reports, citing unnamed sources close to Marshall, that Goodell warned Marshall that any more incidents would result be “grounds for a lengthy ban.” The most recent arrest resulted from an argument between Marshall and his fiancee, to whom he recently proposed in Hawaii at the Pro Bowl. His comments about the situation caused us to hope that maybe he has turned the corner on his troubled past. Even though the latest charges have been dismissed, a truly grown-up Marshall would have known not only to avoid the line of legal liability, but to stay as far away from that line as possible.
