The New Orleans Saints have re-signed wide receiver Devery Henderson, according to Adam Schefter of NFL Network.
Terms of the deal weren’t immediately available.
Henderson was an unrestricted free agent.

  1. Devery was a critical asset to their passing game, in his ability to stretch things out, but if they spent a lot, I don’t know how great a move this would be. I think Payton is a good enough passing game coordinator that, as long as he has some key assets, like Colston, he can make things work and knows how to maximize the talents of his receivers. They still have Meachem on hand.
They do need a big back and they have limitations in the draft. That said, defensively, more back 7 help could be used. Vilma’s back, but Shanle and Fujita are average and could be upgraded. Safety could use a boost, and despite trying to add CB assets in recent years, they could still use another piece there.

  2. This move really says a lot about what the front office/staff think of Robert Meachem. Although Meachem had a few bright spots last year, he still has to be considered a bust, as the team feels once again that they can’t part ways with the inconsistent Henderson.

  3. The Saints sign a cornerback. Jabari Greer. Not sure if he’s an upgrade or not. Haven’t watched him play
