THE ANTI-T.O. LIST

As we’re doing with Mike Vick, we’ll be keeping a running tally of all of the teams that have said “thanks” followed immediately by “no thanks” to the possibility of signing receiver Terrell Owens.
Please note that this only reflects teams that already have said that they’re not interested:
The Dallas Cowboys.  (Duh.)
The New York Giants.
The Washington Redskins.
The Baltimore Ravens.
The San Francisco 49ers.
The Minnesota Vikings.
The Atlanta Falcons.
The Cleveland Browns.
The San Diego Chargers.
The Philadelphia Eagles.
The New York Jets.
The Tennessee Titans.
The St. Louis Rams.
The New Orleans Saints.
The Houston Texans.
The Jacksonville Jaguars.
The Miami Dolphins.
The Oakland Raiders.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Chicago Bears.

I am hearing the Jets have no interest either..

    Eagles and Vikings

  4. olcap says: Mar 5, 2009 11:21 AM

I would think the Cheatriots would probably be interested, then they’d have book-end drama-queen receivers.

  5. cowboys0701 says: Mar 5, 2009 11:21 AM

Just a hunch, but you could probably go ahead and add the Eagles and the 49ers.

STOP SAYING THE GIANTS THEY HAVENT SAID NO!!THE REPORTERS SAY NO.IN THE INFAMOUS WORDS OF JERRY REESE “YOU NEVER SAY NEVER WHEN IT COMES TO PERSONNEL”

  7. brasho says: Mar 5, 2009 11:22 AM

Randy Moss and TO hate each other… With Wes Welker as the #2 and Moss the #1, what role would TO play better than those two? He isn’t the deep threat Moss is and isn’t nearly as tough or dependable as Welker.

  8. Chargers-Superhero says: Mar 5, 2009 11:22 AM

The Chargers DON’T want him. Put them on the list. Watch him land in Oakland with grandpa Al.

  9. cardsfan says: Mar 5, 2009 11:23 AM

Cardinals will have no interest. Already have 1) better receivers and 2) their own headache of one in anquan boldin. A definite not happening.

  10. dynast says: Mar 5, 2009 11:24 AM

I would think the 49ers would have nothing to do with him?

  11. psu05fan says: Mar 5, 2009 11:24 AM

Add Baltimore to the list, Harbaugh knows well enough from his time in philly

  12. PackerSox85 says: Mar 5, 2009 11:24 AM

The sooner the Packers get on that list, the better… Wouldn’t it be alot easier to make a list of teams that actually want him? This list could turn out to be 31 teams long

  13. FrankyFiveFingers says: Mar 5, 2009 11:25 AM

No way Parcells and Co are interested in ” The Player”….write it down.

  14. sauropod says: Mar 5, 2009 11:25 AM

    49ers (DUH)

  15. jaeboo2 says: Mar 5, 2009 11:26 AM

Dolphins- Think Parcells wants round II?
Cardinals- To cheap to give Boldin a raise, think TO would be happy?
    Wherever Jeff Garcia lands
I say TO becomes a Raven.

  16. freeroller says: Mar 5, 2009 11:26 AM

Please add Spitzer’s Swallows to the list, my flag football team can’t have this sort of drama on Saturday mornings.

  17. daabsolute1 says: Mar 5, 2009 11:27 AM

Falcons don’t want (or need) him.

  18. Sank_L.A. says: Mar 5, 2009 11:27 AM

Green Bay. No way Ted Thompson would even consider it. Especially with Donald Driver, Greg Jennings, James Jones, and Jordy Nelson already in the fold.

  23. EdReedUnstoppable says: Mar 5, 2009 11:30 AM

Don’t add Baltimore to this list! If Harbuagh and Ozzie want to win they need a true #1 WR and they’ll do what it takes to get Ray and TO playin together here in BMore!!

  24. audiopro says: Mar 5, 2009 11:31 AM

    “What’s a receiver?”
    signed,
    ‘da Bears.
Don’t even take a connection flight through Chicago, T.O.

  25. fjrain says: Mar 5, 2009 11:32 AM

I say he lands in Jacksonville. They need to pus asses in the seats.

  26. willy3411 says: Mar 5, 2009 11:32 AM

A great place for T.O. The Saskatchewan Rough Riders.

  27. chipperboy1 says: Mar 5, 2009 11:34 AM

Falcons have to be on here. One, no need for a WR. Two, they don’t need a big FA, they’ve stated so numerous times. Three, they don’t need all the media spotlight.

  28. ericfay81 says: Mar 5, 2009 11:35 AM

I don’t think we can rule out the Cowboys yet…

  29. zmanishere11 says: Mar 5, 2009 11:35 AM

The 49ers aren’t taking him back.
The Packers already have 5 young receivers under contract and won’t let TO destroy A-Rod.
The Lions are awful, so no reason for him to play there.

  30. abbazabba says: Mar 5, 2009 11:36 AM

The Giants and Skins are foolish to think they couldn’t use T.O.
Not like the guy goes to clubs and shoots hmiself.

  31. Dooger says: Mar 5, 2009 11:36 AM

I love it when commenters post stuff like “I am hearing X.” You’re hearing it from who, your wife? If you have legitimate connections in the NFL, you are probably not spending your time commenting on PFT.

  32. SuperSix says: Mar 5, 2009 11:37 AM

I doubt he’ll be going to the Bucs – Raheem doesn’t want the attitude in the locker room.

  33. PJ FROM PHILLY says: Mar 5, 2009 11:38 AM

I don’t buy that the Redskins aren’t into TO. They know he wants to stay in the NFC East because the man is all about getting back at his former teams and wants to spotlight on him at all times. The guy is getting up there in age and knows that the focus on him will begin to fade soon, so why not for four weeks a season (at the min) have the talk radio lines lighting up and the TV cameras following his every move in Washington DC. This is so important to T.O., more important than any sort of championship… and the Skins are playing it right.
TO would back Obama the second most popular guy in the District. That being said, the Skins know how bad he wants to stay in the NFC East so they are going to play the “We’re not interested card” so they can get him for as cheap as possible when Rosenhaus puts the full-court press on Snyder to sign TO.

  34. ericfay81 says: Mar 5, 2009 11:39 AM

    I think he’s going to New Orleans…

  35. Jon Snow says: Mar 5, 2009 11:39 AM

Don’t put the Broncos on this list. They’re signing everybody, and even a lot of the fans are now warming up to (i.e. salivating at) the idea of Cutler slinging it to a 4 wideout set of Marshall, TO, Stokely, & Royal. Yikes!

  36. bengalboy932 says: Mar 5, 2009 11:40 AM

Add the Bengals to the list…I doubt Marvin wants to deal with Chris Henry, Chad Johnson AND T.O. (don’t forget Jason Shirley). Plus, the Bengals already signed Lav Coles.
….that is unless Cincy wants to trade Chad for draft picks and bring on a different headache for the team.

  37. Philly5NDime says: Mar 5, 2009 11:41 AM

You can add the Rams to the list too. Steve Spagnulo was in Philly when T.O. created “As the Receiver Turns” soap opera.

    Dooger,
Many of these people have never had girlfriends, much less wives. So they must have another source. Maybe someone posted a video on youporn.com?

  39. DM says: Mar 5, 2009 11:43 AM

The Toronto Argonauts are reportedly interested.

  40. mitchrapp says: Mar 5, 2009 11:43 AM

  41. slutnuts says: Mar 5, 2009 11:43 AM

my wife is telling me that the calgary stampeders are interested, and to pick up some milk

  42. Klutch says: Mar 5, 2009 11:44 AM

Chiefs will sign him. He’ll be our version of Moss in NE.

  43. RomoDingFriesRDone says: Mar 5, 2009 11:46 AM

In a perfect world he wouldnt sign anywhere. Those who think they will help their precious teams win. what do you base that on? numbers? all that does is fatten his wallet not win championmships! WR dont make the team the QB does! It is a slap in the face of every hardworking american for this guy to get any money! Marvin is better than T.O. still with half the headaches hope your teams signs him 1st.

  44. final four line says: Mar 5, 2009 11:47 AM

He’s going to sign with the Patriots – they’ll give him a one-year, incentive laden contract with plenty of outs.

  45. Steelers Eat Steroids says: Mar 5, 2009 11:47 AM

Are you really sure Baltimore wouldn’t be intereste..?? (They almost traded for him but he chose to go to Philly instead.) No, I could see them being interested, perhaps, especially if they are NOT able to draft a WR they may have targeted.
Tampa & Oakland would be my front-runners though.

  47. Ed says: Mar 5, 2009 11:48 AM

Th Steelers should be on that list.
There is no way they would undermine their team by bringing
in cancer. No way in he!!.

  48. WalrusCP says: Mar 5, 2009 11:48 AM

I can 99% guarantee that the Steelers have no interest. They rarely make a splash in free agency, and he is definitely not the kind of player they would ever look to acquire.

  49. Jon Snow says: Mar 5, 2009 11:51 AM

Not for sure, but perhaps we can count out Kansas City too. IIRC KC’s new coach Todd Haley and Owens didn’t get along when Haley was Dallas’ offensive coordinator.

  50. HelmetKing says: Mar 5, 2009 11:55 AM

I wouldn’t be so sure the Eagles will end up on this list, insider sources inform me that the Eagles are targeting Owens to help solidify they’re Dawkins-less secondary.
It should be noted, however, that these are the same insider sources that encourage me to eat my own excrement on a daily basis.
    I apologize for wasting time.

  51. Gallagher says: Mar 5, 2009 11:56 AM

I can say for sure that TO will not land with the Vikings. Remember, TO had some harsh words for Chilly in Philly, and Chilly let TO know he would have none of it. I bet TO regrets uttering the words “Dont speak to me unless spoken to” at this point.

  52. jharre08 says: Mar 5, 2009 11:57 AM

There is no way he lands in Jacksonville – They have been stressing the importance of getting high character guys and rebuilding locker room chemistry…

  53. wilmil63 says: Mar 5, 2009 11:58 AM

Don’t hate on the Patriots becuase they are smarter than all the other teams in the NFL. That being said I don’t like the sound of TO in a Patroits uniform. We’ll take Torry Holt however.

  54. Mr.860 says: Mar 5, 2009 11:59 AM

    Why not the 49ers?

  55. Big Chief Tablet says: Mar 5, 2009 12:01 PM

Don’t forget the Chiefs! Todd Haley was interviewed to be head coach in Dallas and he told Jerry Jones he can not be head coach of a team with Terrell Owens on it.

  56. Steelers Eat Steroids says: Mar 5, 2009 12:03 PM

I can’t believe Baltimore is NOT interested,…they almost traded for him once and they still have a BIG need for a better #1 WR.
No, along with Tampa & Oakland, I would include Balt. as my three MOST likely places ‘TO’ s ing his flaky asz!! I wouldn’t be overly surprised if Belichick thinks he can pair him with Moss because Bready & the “team” have always kept flakes like him, Moss, Cory Dylan in line when they became Pats.

she-ho is going to have sign for a lot less now that the botox ranger is not bidding (against himself).

  62. TravisHenrys12thKid says: Mar 5, 2009 12:14 PM

Mangina is going to want him on the Browns. He saw Belicheck grab a troubled wideout and turn him into a stud and he wants to prove he can do the same. Think about it: they traded Winslow, Edwards really hasn’t taken the next step to be a #1 wideout, and who else is even on their depth chart?
    T.O. = Cleveland Brown

  63. itsacurse says: Mar 5, 2009 12:15 PM

He could wind up in Oakland, of course. But maybe the Jets, Chargers, or Titans get him to behave for a one season run?

  64. Mbehavin2 says: Mar 5, 2009 12:16 PM

I hope Bowlen steps in and tells his HC and GM with training wheels and diapers that the Broncos already have a very good cast of receivers on a very good offense. The Broncos do not need to bring in a Team Wrecker.

  65. anaheim2dafullest says: Mar 5, 2009 12:17 PM

Can’t wait to see who they blame for how terrible they are next season when they dont have him around. It would have been worth the 9+ million to keep him around so they could pin everything on him and ignore the truth. Sorry your so bitter, too bad the fact is he’s still one of the best WR’s in the game. I’ll shut the f up if you do.

  74. JimmySmith says: Mar 5, 2009 12:40 PM

The Packers hate loud mouth jerks, no matter their production on the field. Add to that they already have 5 quality WR’s, Tightwad Teddy’s inability to pull the trigger on FA’s in general and the fact that Drew Screw-you-out-ofyourhouse is the Agent, he has no chance.

  79. delcoeagle says: Mar 5, 2009 12:52 PM

I would add the St. Louis Rams on the expected list, since their coach is Spags. He was the D-Cord at Philly when this all went down and he tried to split that locker room in half.
Same reason why Childress and Harbough, both former coaches in Philly at the time. (Vikes and Ravens). They are not dumb, the risk outweighs the reward.

    Teams that ARE intrested:
    AFC:
Houston- Can you imagine T.O. along side Andre Johnson? Kubiak would love another offensive weapon. Can you say division favorites?
Jets- Like to sign big free agents, and Ryan could deal with a T.O.
    NFC:
Tampa Bay- They’ve got money to spend. T.o on the outside and Winslow on the inside would be a nice one-two punch.
Chicago- Have the Bears ever had a big play wide reciever?
Minnesota- He could keep a safety out of the box, and bolster the run game if thats possible.

  90. Elaw6 says: Mar 5, 2009 2:15 PM

  95. sausage_mcgriddle says: Mar 5, 2009 3:22 PM

The Bills should be on the list. They tend to develop talent then not re-sign them and then not sign free agents.

  105. bhooks80 says: Mar 5, 2009 6:02 PM

why would any team give the upper hand in negotiations?
no team will confer interest, especially in this economic climate

  106. bondem777 says: Mar 5, 2009 6:02 PM

Why aren’t the Bengals on the anti-T.O. list? They couldn’t possibly handle him and Chad. They have to hire a team of babysitters. Beside we already got Coles.

  107. Jarvaris Tackson says: Mar 5, 2009 6:06 PM

The Saskatchewan Roughriders are also out.

  108. JuicyMelon says: Mar 5, 2009 6:07 PM

Why would a team state they are interested? It hurts in contract talks. All of the above teams are potential liars.

  109. florio4prez says: Mar 5, 2009 6:36 PM

Mikey, I trust that the Stillers do NOT need to “officially” respond in order to be added to the list.

  110. annex50 says: Mar 5, 2009 6:40 PM

On the 6pm SportsCenter, John Clayton ruled out Tampa Bay.

  111. upnorthscott says: Mar 5, 2009 6:47 PM

How about Minnesota. Then he could crush Tavaris Jackson’s confidence as well. I mean he is all about bringing down every team he plays for and Jackson is so young he might even believe T.O. when he says he is always open.

  112. spanky07 says: Mar 5, 2009 6:55 PM

I hope the Turd goes to Buffalo and freezes his ass off!

  113. davidmv13 says: Mar 5, 2009 7:04 PM

The Saints are probably a no-go for TO. Sean Payton just came on Saints talk radio with Bobby Hebert and said there would be no TO in NO!

  114. drunkmonkey says: Mar 5, 2009 7:08 PM

I love how all of the comments are trying to get their favorite teams on the list- you only get on the list if the team has said something about T.O., not based on what the comments here say.
Also, as to the comments about the Steelers and their free agents:
Are you trying to prove that the Steelers know what they’re doing? That list consists of 2 players who they got rid of because they couldn’t play/were bad in the locker room, and one player that hasn’t ever had an issue in the locker room and helped them win 2 Super Bowls. Way to go…

  115. empty13 says: Mar 5, 2009 7:13 PM

for the right price and the right contract maybe more would have interest. lots of work for the lawyers to get that contract right.
    oakland it is.

  116. jongruden says: Mar 5, 2009 7:21 PM

    Denver will make an offer.

  117. critias says: Mar 5, 2009 7:28 PM

The only team I can realistically see taking a flyer on Owens… is the Houston Texans. And they’d actually be a decent fit, too.

  118. shukey11 says: Mar 5, 2009 7:40 PM

maybe he will play in the cfl with marvin

  119. zachintosh says: Mar 5, 2009 7:55 PM

in about 5 mins can we change the list to who hasnt said no yet… lol

  120. bmoreravengirl says: Mar 5, 2009 8:02 PM

I don’t want that cancerous ulcer anywhere near the Ravens.

  121. epping16 says: Mar 5, 2009 8:06 PM

49ers are not out….McCloughan had an interview and said the dorr is not shut and actually even said that with Singletary they are not afraid to take a chance on players who have some background issues! At this point if your saying that, that means the door is wide open

  122. towpro20 says: Mar 5, 2009 8:24 PM

he’ll end up with the bucs

  123. epping16 says: Mar 5, 2009 8:30 PM

Good point by the guy that said Texans, would be a nice fit there

  124. Mr Al Davis says: Mar 5, 2009 9:15 PM

    No thank you.

  125. Kristopherhb says: Mar 5, 2009 9:49 PM

Don’t be an idiot. The Texans will never mess with TO’s trash. Besides, where would he fit in? There will never be enough balls to go around with Andre Johnson, Owen Daniels (both pro bowl, is that good or what?) Kevin Walter (60 receptions 899 yards), David Anderson and Andre Davis.
You people are morons or just plain ignorant on the Texans WR core. Unless, of course, you think TO would like being the fifth option. Even then, the Texans don’t deal with that trash!!!!

  126. JaredAllen69 says: Mar 5, 2009 10:45 PM

The GreenGay FudgePackQueers are not on the no T.O. List. He will become a Fudgie.

  127. mikenjess143 says: Mar 5, 2009 10:52 PM

Don’t Count out Tampa after the cuts they made a lot of fans are mad there’s no master plan in place, and they still have like 30 million in cap room. Raheem is young, He might even be a bit tempted to tame the beast. Mark Dominick has to be chomping at the bit to make a name for him self by making such a big move. All in all Tampa has a Number 1 and A number 3 receiver. I’d bet they would love to add a 1a instead of a 2. Take double coverage off Bryant and Let Winslow loose in the middle. Maybee just Maybee Tampa could put together the long awaited Offense. Or do i just sound like a desperate fan?

  128. JaredAllen69 says: Mar 5, 2009 10:58 PM

I just checked again, and the FudgePackQueers are not on the no T.O. list, and they have a ton of room cap space and nobody to spend it on.. They have Wr’s true, but tons of needs. They will trade away WR’s for draft picks, and sign T.O. They have to spend the cap room some place, and T.O. can “help” Aaron Rodgers. Done and done. T.O. to G.B.

  129. van77d says: Mar 6, 2009 12:41 AM

Ted Thompson is still in hibernation, so the Packers haven’t said one way or the other yet.

  130. Floriolovesthepoppycock says: Mar 6, 2009 1:52 AM

Lets get him one time Buffalo

  131. spoonyp says: Mar 6, 2009 5:36 AM

Pats will sign him at bargain price!

  132. samlv4 says: Mar 6, 2009 9:17 AM

Pats will not sign this mental case…. this is completely different than the Corey Dillon and Randy Moss signings ….. Neither were selfish head cases like TO.

  133. diealreadyralphwilson says: Mar 6, 2009 10:02 AM

the WKRP Bungles have to top this list.
Da Bears! would make sense too.

  134. Raider_Coffey says: Mar 6, 2009 4:14 PM

I say TO and The Dog Killer both finally get the Karma they deserve and all teams with a shot at making it to the playoffs pass on both of these ingrates. I am a die hard Raiders fan and know that Mr. Davis would never put up with these 2 oxygen thiefs.

  135. jimicos says: Mar 10, 2009 7:43 PM

Kilroy was here. And he didn’t want TO either.
