ANOTHER MANGINI MOVE

The Cleveland Browns, who have a long tradition of hiring executives from the league office in New York, have hired Dawn Aponte from the NFL management council as a salary-cap specialist. Aponte’s job title with the Browns is vice president of football administration. She has salary-cap management duties and oversees contract negotiations. Prior to working for the league office for the past three years, Aponte worked for the New York Jets for 15 years with a final title of senior director of football administration. “Dawn is an extremely bright executive,” Browns General Manager George Kokinis said in a statement. “She has expertise in many different facets of the NFL, including contract negotiations, salary-cap management, and league labor relations. Her unique and valuable experience will be an asset to our front office.” Aponte is a University of Delaware graduate who holds a law degree from New York Law School.
