BURNETT BOLTS THE ‘BOYS FOR THE BOLTS

Cowboys linebacker Kevin Burnett, an unrestricted free agent, has agreed to terms with the Chargers, according to Calvin Watkins of the Dallas Morning News (via David White of the San Francisco Chronicle). We’ve separately confirmed that, indeed, the deal is done. Burnett has been primarily a reserve for his four-year career, starting only four games in four NFL seasons. He was a second-round pick of the Cowboys in 2005, when Bill Parcells was the head coach. By all appearances, however, Parcells’ current team (the Dolphins) didn’t make a play for Burnett. UPDATE: The Chargers have announced the move on their web site.
