The “Paymah Rent” tour finally has ended.
According to Sean Jensen of the St. Paul Pioneer Press, free-agent cornerback Karl Paymah has agreed to terms with the Vikings.
Paymah, who previously played for the Broncos, visited multiple teams before finally arriving in Minnesota.
So either he was tired of traveling, or the Vikings offered him more than any other team.
Paymah signed a one-year deal, and he plans to test the market again in 2010. He thinks that, with the coaching of defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier and secondary coach Joe Woods, his career will take off.
“I got the talent,” Paymah said, “but not the guidance.”
But we hope that he’s getting good guidance from his agent. Before Karl presumes that he’ll launch another “Paymah Rent” tour in 2010, he needs to keep one important thing in mind: Absent a new CBA (or a clause in his contract promising that the team won’t try to hold him in place), Paymah will be only a restricted free agent next year, because he won’t have the requisite six years of service.

I haven’t read anything good about this guy. Is this the Vikes being stupid – hard to believe I know – or is this a good signing? Has this guy ever done anything?
I have won 3 ipods, 4 Nintendo Wii’s and an Xbox 360 from this site in the last hour.
I knew viewing this site would pay off.
I think it’s safe to say at this point it was the Paymah mortgage tour.
Do you actually get the stuff they say you won, or is it a scam?
Considering a youtube search yields a Madden 09 vid, I’d say the vikes are stupid.
oh boy!
Nice to see he passed the vikes’ intelligence test…not a UFA next year, eh? My guess is that his agent will read your article and demand a renegotiate right away………………………
Snore. Somebody wake me up when the Viking realize they need a QB.
If the paymah rent joke had just traces of humor in it the first time it was made, how should it be classified after the fiftieth?
Paymuh has 3 INTs in 4 years in the league. He was given every opportunity to beat out Dre Bly (the slowest corner in the league last year) and he couldn’t do it. He was then passed on the depth chart by a rookie free agent, Josh Bell as well as 4th round draft choice, Jack Williams who is generously listed at 5’8” 160. He will be in the Vikings Press Guide under the heading “looks like Tarzan, plays like Jane.” His only value is as an outside gunner on special teams. That’s it. He’s not a nickel CB, and he’s not a dime CB. He’s the eighth guy you bring in with the prevent at the end of the half or end of the game prior to the 50+ yard desperation throw, where you have 8 DBs and 3 D-lineman on the field. While he has very good size and speed for a corner, he’s a liability in man to man coverage. Twice the Broncos tried to convert him to safety and he just floundered. Just ask yourself, If this guy has four years in league and he still hasn’t figured it out enough to be any more than the 4th or 5th CB on the Denver Broncos defense, just how much help is he going to be.
This guy is a standout special team player something the Vikings need.
JohnnyJr says: “His only value is as an outside gunner on special teams. ”
Johnny, did you see the Vikings punt and kickoff coverage teams last year? Maybe that’s exactly why they got him.
The Vikings already re-signed the nickle and dime backs from last year (Charles Gordon and Benny Sapp) and return their starting corners.
This isn’t a guy that is being handed any playing time on defense. But even Champ Bailey looks bad playing for the Broncos, so perhaps he may be one of those guys that plays better in a different defensive scheme and with better players around him. If so, he’ll get limited PT at best on defense. If not, it was strictly a much needed move to improve special teams.
Everything that I’ve read on this guy is that he is a solid special teams contributor. The Vikes third unit coverage teams stunk last year. Addressing these needs is a priority. Not underestimating the importance of special teams is crucial. It’s a mistake that many teams make and clearly Minny has been in that company. I, for one, call this a very safe, low risk signing.
Defense and special teams win championships.
Good job.
ummmmmm

Do you actually get the stuff they say you won, or is it a scam?
Asking that question puts you in the group the ad is targeting.
We all realize ad’s paymah rent on the internet, but geegollickers, Florio couldn’t you retain a little veto power?
Give the Vikings some credit. They didn’t buy the guy, they just got a pretty good deal on a one-year lease. If he sucks, adios. I agree that the primary purpose for the signing is to get a stud special teamer. Let the brains of the operation (I know, I have bashed them myself) take the risks.
The Vikings know what they are doing when they sign FA CB’s. Just ask Fred Smoot. They got hoodwinked into signing a slowing Darren Sharper and if it wasn’t for his inflated sense of his value, he still might be a Viking today.
I am surprised that the Viking fans haven’t logged on to claim they are going to the Superbowl. It seems to be an annual rite of passage every spring to make that pronouncement after the Vikings sign a couple of FA’s.
Ok jerkoff, so I’m in the group the ad is targeting. Now answer the damn question. And why would Florio veto a legitimate question that would help his advertiser? Please do yourself a favor and never open a business and then advertise it.
F’n idiot…
And what the hell is a geegollickers? No making up words. You hit a nerve, jerko. I challenge you to a duel sir.
I’m amazed that Greg Camarillo’s bitch could get signed anywhere.
The intent wasn’t to veto your question. The intent was to question why he didn’t retain and/or use a mechanism to insure the rotating ad’s weren’t misleading and/or extremely annoying to his readers.
Hope that answers your question. Now a question for you, how many times has an ad here announced (loudly with lots of flashing colors) that you are the 10,000th visitor?
As to the duel, my choice of weapons is juiced-up internet hamsters at 10 paces.
Well I hope he doesn’t hope to get a chance to start because he’s not gonna beat Cedric Griffin, let alone Benny Sapp, maybe just maybe he’ll beat out Marcus McUseless for a spot in the dollar formation which is used probably once ever 5 seasons. We’ll paymah rent, if you play our special teams.
I think they were after a special team guy, I’m happy we picked him up for that reason. With Farwell back this year, if this guy can provide some decent special team play it will make a big difference.
Someone said he can’t play man to man, guess what, the Vikes play the Tampa 2, rarely ever go man. And as the Vikings learned last year depth is a good thing.
Call me crazy but I believe in our defensive FA/trade pick ups a little more than our offensive ones.
@Eddie Drycleaner
Don’t be such a douche bro, he wasn’t trying to be a dick.

Oh you can get it, you just have to sign up for a bunch of programs and get like 20 friends to as well.
In the end you will get that Nintendo wii and the companies will gladly give away one for 20 mailing addresses and phone numbers and if one of those people do the same they get 20 more.
Have I done it before, no but doubleclick (The pain in the ass ad agency that does ads like this) has an office in St. Louis county and I have a neighbor that works there.
They also put a shite load of spyware in your PC when you click the ad. And being able to trace where people go on the internet is marketing gold.
In the end all that is easily worth a Nintendo Wii.
Any ad by gooooogle (It usually says ads by gooooogle at the bottom) is usually related to spyware where they will trace your searches and place an ad that relates to something you have looked up or have shown interest in. Unless you dump your spyware regularly, then you get the belly ad =_=
I could go deeper but I doubt you would really want to know.
Run a spyware remover everyday is my lesson for the day.
Oh… So he wasn’t attacking
Me? Sorry…
Obviously I know it’s a con, so I don’t click on them. But I’ve always wondered what happens when you do click on it. I figured I’d ask someone.
I was a douche, and I sincerely apologize.
10 juiced up hamsters are not weapons, they are a god send around these parts.
Make love, not war.
You guys are good people posting on here… I feel really bad PJW. You are a class act. And thanks to you and shuxion for the info.
I’m gonna go crawl in a hole in shame now.
Since they already signed Sapp and Gordon, this must be a special team addition. Either that or the guy was desperate because he maxed out his credit card from all the travelling. What’s with all the spyware/ad bitching? Do that directly to Florio. Then again, I guess it’s better to have those posts than those of the Pack fans seeing as how they must all be in hibernation with all the offseason excitement generated by TT and McCarthy.
Super Bowl champions? Nah, not yet.
NFC North champions? Definitely. I mean, really. . .who else is there?
Naw, I apologize to you Eddie.
To be honest the first part of my post was a bit of a backhanded slap at you.
I see now you were just asking for information and didn’t deserve it.
Sorry about that…
Are you sure he signed with the vikes? It doesn’t say this any where on the team’s site from nfl.com, and he’s shown as signed with the Broncos (1 year deal)
Awe, it’s nice to see all the love in these comments between PJW and Eddy… I’m feeling a little feklempt
@ poirier21
On espn it says that paymah was also signed to the Vikings, the Vikings website is pretty garbage especially compared to other teams sites, so you can expect few updates over a course of time.
PAYMAH RENT!
