New York Giants running back Ahmad Bradshaw joined his teammates today at the launch of the team’s offseason training program after recently completing his jail sentence for a juvenile probation violation, according to Tom Rock of Newsday.
According to Rock, Bradshaw was released from the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail Authority several days ago after a jail stint of nearly 30 days.
This completes a 60-day jail sentence that Bradshaw began serving last summer in an arrangement with law enforcement authorities that allowed him to work around his NFL employment.
Meanwhile, Giants wide receiver Plaxico Burress, who’s facing gun charges, wasn’t at the voluntary workout.
“That all can be something that’s addressed at the proper time,” Coughlin said when asked about Burress’ lack of participation.
Asked when the Giants would begin to keep tabs on Burress’ readiness to play football, Coughlin said it’s not time for that yet.
“I dont think so, not with what’s in front of him,” Coughlin said.
Defensive end Osi Umenyiora, who missed last season with a knee injury, was at the workout session.

Seriously why would Coughlin and the Giants care so much about Buress in this? There is no way I see him getting out of this to play for the Giants this season or much of any to come. So if Buress doesn’t show up to any offseason activities I’d hardly be surprised. And considering the legal trouble he is in I don’t think the Giants can really fine him either.
Personally if I were the Giants I tell the media that we’re planning as if Buress were cut from the team and that once the legal issues/NFL suspensions are done then we can evaluate whether he plays or not.
So he’s still alive then?! Sweet!
Hey Florio, can we get a comprehensive list of all NFL players who have done time? Obviously I don’t mean arrests (that would be rather long), I simply mean those who have served a prison sentence.
Or interpret the idea however you want.
But obviously one consideration would be the actual sample – active players only, or recent players, or etc..
Plaxico Burress isn’t at the offseason workouts? Now THAT’S news. I also want to remind everyone that Bradshaw earned his 60 days by walking in a street. That’s how they do it down south boy.
Can’t wait to see them Polishing that SB Trophy next year. Good times.
Oh yea…Deadskins, Cowgirls and Smeagles suck

I agree, with the way the Giants loaded up on an already excellent D, they are going to be VERY hard to beat, regardless of Plax.
