Butler Getting Around

As you might have noticed, we’ve been posting various items regarding the visits that various of the incoming rookies will be making and/or the private workouts they’ll be conducting. The latest is Connecticut cornerback Darius Butler. Per a league source, Butler will be visiting the Bills, Jets, Titans, Vikings, Saints, and Rams. Butler also will conduct private workouts for the Browns, Broncos, Dolphins, Falcons, and Rams. Earlier this week, Butler posted a blazing time of 4.38 seconds at his Pro Day workout, faster than his 4.46-second result from the Scouting Combine. (It’s unclear at this point whether scouts will be adjusting that time downward to account for the surface on which Butler ran.) Butler joins running back Donald Brown and tackle William Beatty as potential first-day draft picks. Connecticut previously has had no player selected higher than round three.
