The San Francisco 49ers have announced that tackle Jonas Jennings’ contract has been terminated.
Jennings signed with the Niners in 2005 as a free agent.
His time in San Fran was marred by injury. In his first year, Jennings played in only three games. In 2007, he was limited to five games. Last year, he played in only two games.
The only exception was 2006, during which Jennings started 13 games.
Before joining the 49ers, he started 52 games in four seasons with the Bills.
Jennings was under contract through 2011, and he was due to earn base salaries of $4.2 million, $4.3 million, and $5.15 million in each of the next three years.

Thank god the Jonas brothers got dumped… Wait, shit this is Jonas Jennings. Back to the drawing board
Niners just signed Marvel Smith to replace Jennings. Team is collecting “Smiths” – there’s now 4.
Good Riddance! This guy has glass bones!!
Hey Florio ill settle for second. I can sell the first book on ebay and use the second one to fix the wobble on my chair…
Probably won’t be the winning comment by I tryed. Love the site.
Interesting move by the Niners. Release one injury prone player for another. If Smith can stay healthy this is a great move because he is simply a beast when healthy.
“They used to call me Mr. Glass…”
Good riddence…
There was some mystery about Jennings’ suspension a few years ago. He got benched, nobody would say why.
Come on, Florio, let’s get the dirt!
Was leaving the “S” off of Niners a mistake or were you just looking for a polite way to call Jonas Jennings a piece of sh-t?
Did I catch a “niner” in there? Were you calling from a walkie-talkie?
