Former Dallas Cowboy Arrested on Drug Charges

Former Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle Leonardo Carson was arrested by FBI agents at his Texas home after being indicted in Alabama last month, according to the Dallas Morning News. Carson, 32, was charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute cocaine, crack cocaine, and marijuana. He faces federal and state drug charges. Carson, who played collegiately at Auburn, played for the Cowboys during the 2003 and 2004 seasons. However, he was cut prior to the season in 2005. He had a previous stint with the San Diego Chargers. In 2004, Carson served a 30-day sentence in the Mobile, Ala., jail for misdemeanor counts of kidnapping and burglary. His arrest record includes charges of menacing, harassment, assault, and criminal mischief, according to the Mobile (Ala.) Press-Register. According to NFL.com, Carson recorded 127 career tackles and 8.5 sacks in six NFL seasons.
