The Redskins, The Titans, And Tampering

As we empty the PFTV hopper once again, we offer up a segment that focuses on the allegation by the Tennessee Titans that the Washington Redskins tampered with defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth.
It’s a serious charge, and thus media reports have suggested that the Titans aren’t really making the claim.  Instead, we’re all being sold the notion that the Titans are merely asking for some questions to be answered.
We don’t buy it.  And here’s what we have to say about it.  If you care.  Or if you don’t.

  1. With all the pop up ads and sponsors, one would think you could invest in a set that doesn’t look like the Tom Mees era of ESPN.

  2. Is anyone else playing Press Your Luck “No Whammies” with the screen behind Florio’s head? I use the PFT logo as the whammy.

  3. Blah, blah, blah, who cares.
The one important item in this video is Joe’s tie. I’ve seen other posters make fun of it. Have any of you complainers either worn or purchased a tie in recent years?
Joe’s tie looks sensational. Good job Joe.
I’ll reserve comment on Mike’s tie, maybe he borrowed it from one of you complainers.

  4. So the Redskins sign Haynesworth the following morning, but the Dolphins sign a guy at 12:01 back in 2008 and no one has a problem with that?
Everyone does it, the Titans were never going to pay the money that the Redskins, the Bucs, and the Giants were all putting up, and it’s a bad system that needs fixed.
Complaining is for cheapskates. Fix the system.

  5. Yeah seriously. Dead Horse. And I’m a Titans fan. The league has already floated the notion of extending the window for talks prior to the free agency period. What does this tell us? It tells us that they know what the reality of free agency is, and they know what the intent of the tampering rule is. The Skins haven’t broken the spirit of the rule, and the rule is ultimately enforced by the league, which as I mentioned above, is made up of people that seem to “get it”. The spirit of these rules wasn’t violated by the Skins signing Haynesworth. Done deal. Do we want to still beat this carcass and force a rule clarification or do we want to allow the league the latitude of being able to use the heads presumably on their shoulders? I vote for the latter.

  6. If this were the patriots, the whole would would be CRYING like little girls right now.. I seriously hope the people who are saying “it happens all the time” aren’t the same ones whining about the pats.. I really do..

  7. The Titans have got to be some of the more dense teams in the league for pursuing this. Every team knows that some sort of “tampering” goes on and it’s something that all NFL teams collectively turn a blind eye to…except in this case. I want to know where the other teams are that were also “tampering” i.e. the Bucs, Lions and Giants. Tennessee is going to regret opening this can of worms as everything they do from now on will be scrutinized. Other owners will not look at this favorably.

sure, not a bad tie at all…
unfortunately only a blind retarded chimp would wear it with that shirt and jacket…
its the kind of thing where the wearer pulls you close to show you that: ‘see? there are some maroon threads in the tie! and here is a grey section! therefore it must go with a maroon shirt and grey suit, right?
nope, from more than 5 ft away it looks like a pink tie with a red shirt…
