Update: LSU’s Byrd Remains In Stable Condition, Injuries Detailed

LSU wide receiver Demetrius Byrd remains in stable condition at the intensive care unit of Miami’s Jackson Memorial Hospital after being involved in a car accident on Sunday while traveling to church. The NFL draft prospect has been receiving hourly CAT scans to monitor his condition, according to a source close to the situation. Per the source, Byrd injured his shoulder and ear lobe and incurred several scratches and bruises on his face and arms. The severity of those injuries is unknown at this time. Miami Central coach Telly Lockett told us this morning that he has been informed that Byrd, 22, is going to be okay. Hospital officials have reported no change in Byrd’s condition since earlier this morning when he was listed as stable. The Miami native has been projected as a second-day draft pick.
