We received a tip tonight from a reader that Doug Flutie could be in line to join the VERSUS coverage of the upstart UFL.
And so we did some semi-real journalism (for a change), and we learned that, indeed, Flutie is close to a deal to join the broadcast team as an analyst.
Flutie currently works as a college football analyst for ESPN/ABC.
The potential impact of his gig with VERSUS on his ESPN/ABC job isn’t known.

Flutis’s style is fine for the college game but it won’t translate to the pro game. Besides, he’s too short!
The hockey coverage on VERSUS sucks. Every game sounds like cats fighting.
I’m rooting for this to succeed. ESPN needs another network to start nipping at their heels.

Lets see if this leauge even starts
Flutie is a classic overachiever. He did aweful his first few years in the NFL, however he scratched and clawed his way ino a starting role in the NFL years laterand actually produded. I firlmy believe that anything this man puts his mind to he will achieve, call me crazy.
I’ve always like Flutie. Whether playing or doing commentary.
Flutie is a God. He can do anything he wants.
Fluite adds nothing to a broadcast. ESPN relegated him to ABC studio work, which means he’s on screen for less than 10 minutes per week. That’s 10 minutes too much.
