The Minnesota Media Is Getting Restless

Most football observers are getting frustrated with the Brett Favre situation because Brett Favre won’t let anyone know what he’s actually planning to do. In Minnesota, writers from each of the two leading newspapers are getting frustrated with the Brett Favre situation because the Vikings won’t let anyone know what they’re actually planning to do. Judd Zulgad of the Minneapolis Star Tribune made a plea for something definitive from the Vikings earlier today, before the on-again, off-again talks between player and team were on, again. Tom Powers of the St. Paul Pioneer Press has since banged out a scathingly hilarious (or is it hilariously scathing?) item calling for the Vikings to provide something other than a “no comment.” Along the way, Powers coins a great name for the two-headed Plan B in Minnesota if Plan Brett doesn’t come to fruition. “Perhaps their thinking is that if the deal blows up, they can downplay it and claim they’ve always loved Sagvaris Jackenfels and were just making a courtesy call to a future Canton inductee,” Powers writes. “That’s fine, but how do they think poor Sagvaris feels reading and seeing all this stuff right now?”
