Falcons Sunday Minicamp Report

Here’s a look at the Atlanta Falcons’ minicamp. . . . G Harvey Dahl and DE Jamaal Anderson got into a scrap during the afternoon practice. Said QB Matt Ryan, “We have a lot of guys back from what we’ve done last year and that helps when you come into situations like this. We’re not learning a new offense, we’re just fine-tuning what we did last year.” QB John Parker Wilson may have quieted some concerns about his arm strength. Coach Mike Smith scheduled breaks for his older players, and the “Over 30" club took part in one practice a day. RB Michael Turner thinks the addition of TE Tony Gonzalez will make his life easier this season. S William Moore is projected to play strong safety, but his speed may make either safety spot a possibility. QB Chris Redman and WR Harry Douglas hooked up on a long completion that drew “ooohs and aaahs” from the fans watching practice. Following practice, rookies tried to catch balls launched 100 yards by the JUGS machine. Pat Yasinskas of ESPN.com thinks more teams should follow the Falcons’ lead and open minicamp to the public.
