Quincy Carter Arrested Again

Former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Quincy Carter, who's now playing for the Abilene Ruff Riders, was arrested Sunday night for a probation violation, according to KRBC-TV, per Tim MacMahon of the Dallas Morning News.

Carter was arrested for a DWI and possession of marijuana in February shortly before joining the Ruff Riders, an Intense Football League franchise. (We've been subsequently told that the Intense Football League merged with United Indoor Football to form the Indoor Football League)

Carter discussed his legal problems in March with KRBC.

"The only thing I can do is work on it day by day," Carter said. "If I was to tell you two weeks fresh out of getting myself in trouble, that everything is behind me now then I'd probably be lying to you.

"I'm a pretty straightup and honest guy. I'm going to do everything possible to take cae of this situation, and that's the only thing I can tell you."

Among Carter's previous encounters with the legal system: a possession of marijuana arrest in Irving, Tex., in 2006 and a possession of marijuana charge in 2007 in Shreveport, La.

Carter has spent time in the past in drug rehabilitation, according to published reports.

A former Cowboys starter who played for the New York Jets following his release in 2004, Carter has played in the CFL, for Bossier-Shreveport in AFC2 and for the Arena Football League's Kansas City Brigade.

In four NFL seasons, Carter passed for 6,337 yards, 32 touchdowns and 37 interceptions for a 71.7 quarterback rating. The former University of Georgia quarterback rushed for 518 yards and three touchdowns.

The good news for Quincy is that his odds of regaining a NFL job are exactly the same as they were before the arrest...

I didn't know his stats were that good, his quarterback rating is only 4 points behind vick. Not that that's very good.

It is only a matter of time before his van is pulled over with 384lbs of pot in the back. Isn't that what former cowboys do?

You can tell Florio didn't write this one though. No one smart ass comment. And there is definitely room for ad lib.

Isn't there a big Batman-like spotlight that can summon the fabled Taco Bill for news like this?

Sad to see. I was a bit too young when Quincy Carter was anywhere near a legitimate player in the NFL, but question Cowboys fans that were paying attention at that time - was he considered to be the next big Dallas QB? The post-Aikman solution? Just wondering.

  19. Anton13 says: May 11, 2009 6:25 PM

Uh-oh! He smokes marijuana? Watch out, he may go insane and shoot up a school! Havent you seen Reefer Madness? People who smoke marijuana should be locked up and away from all of the decent members of society who instead use pharmeceuticals obtained by a prescription, tobacco products or alcohol! Those only kill hundreds of thousands people per year, while marijuana kills... what? nobody dies from marijuana? that cant be right... it is? oh. disregard this comment.

    ___

Reptar: First off, he never was a legitimate player in the NFL or anywhere near that. Second, what were you hanging with Phil, Lil, Angelica and Tommy Pickles sitting in your playpen watching Rugrats? Oh, don;t forget Chuckie....

Hey Vox, he was a Cowboy - time to start defending him. Talk about how he is and always was better than McNabb. Then remind us of your tarnished rings from last century.

No need to remind anyone......you just did. And you really should give up this man-crush you have with Vox and everything Cowboys related. And where do you go off calling the Cowboys rings tarnished, you worthless fan of a miserable franchise?

Back to the topic at hand, Quincy Carter doesn't deserve to play football for anyone. His momma should take away his Xbox and not even let him play Madden.

    ****
ha ha ha - funny. I was just joking because all of the Cowboys fans stalk any Eagles related post. I get off calling the rings tarnished because since Jeffry bought the Eagles, they are ,by far, the better of the two organizations. That and because I want to.
