After the draft, veteran running back Edgerrin James received his long-awaited release from the Cardinals.
He remains on the market, and the Saints remain potentially interested in him.
“We’ve spent some time evaluating Edgerrin,” G.M. Mickey Loomis told Alex Marvez of FOXSports.com. “We think he can still play. We’re going to continue to evaluate that and see where it ends up. We haven’t made a decision on Edgerrin yet.”
Coincidentally, the Saints had tried to get back into the bottom of round one in order to snatch running back Beanie Wells in the draft. They couldn’t, and the Cardinals picked Wells, paving the way for James’ release.

Maybe George Rogers is available. They could also sign John Fourcade as their backup QB.
Unbelievable … If they think they need a RB … just bring Deuce back, at least he’s a fan favorite.

Deuce is done. Nothing left and oft injured. I think most Saint’s fans realize this.
With any luck, Edge will be on the team long enough to bitterly demand his release.
Edge would be perfect for NO. Along with Reggie and Peirre, that backfield will be dangerous
