Texans Dump Brandon Walker After Two Arrests In A Week

We have a pretty good system in place for being alerted as to the arrests of NFL players and other employees.
But it still has some flaws.  Moments ago, we discovered evidence of one of them.
While performing a massive clearing out of my e-mail box, I stumbled over a message from CFT’s John Taylor, circa May 18.
He was sending a link regarding the second arrest in little more than a week of Texans guard Brandon Walker, who was signed last month as an undrafted free agent.
Eight days after being served with a municipal warrant on May 10 after failing to pay a citation for driving without proper registration or proof of insurance, Walker was pinched for drunk driving.
The next day, the Texans cut him.

If only more teams would handle their player’s situations like this.

Like a good little fascist Nazi.
Always protecting the league and union and the nice little “Student-athlete” system of indentured servitude yet always ripping the players to shreds.

I can never understand why people will sit around and wonder “Why would they do that?” whenever one of these pro players screw up like this.
Why did he get arrested twice? Why did Roethlisberger go motorcycle surfing with no helmet? Why did Plaxico Burress shoot himself in the leg? Why did Michael Vick sweep the street with live animals? Why does Bret Favre do whatever he’s doing now?
Because jocks are dumb, stupid. That’s why. They always have been.
News is when one actually goes an entire career without screwing up.
