Already unpopular in the locker room following his well-publicized fight last year with quarterback Brady Quinn, Cleveland Browns defensive lineman Shaun Smith is reportedly wearing out his welcome with the coaches. According to Tony Grossi of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Smith was given some unequivocal advice during a recent meeting with the coaching staff. It consisted of four five words: “Shape up and shut up.” [Editor’s note: Sorry for the error. We borrowed Emmitt’s calculator when tabulating the number of words.] It was reported here last year that Smith never stops running his mouth and has an overly inflated opinion of himself. Smith is under contract through 2010.
