The Kansas City Chiefs have announced that defensive end Brian Johnston has been placed on waivers. He was a seventh-round pick in 2008, and he appeared in nine regular-season games. If Johnston clears waivers, he’ll become an unrestricted free agent. But it makes sense for anyone who wants him to make a waivers claim, since he’s undoubtedly receiving only the minimum base salaries for the balance of his current deal.
