Lions Sign Tra Battle

Former Dallas Cowboys cornerback Tra Battle was claimed by the Detroit Lions off of waivers today, according to Adam Caplan of  (We’ve confirmed it as well.)
Battle, who played in five games last season for the Cowboys and recorded 14 tackles, was cut by Dallas on Wednesday.
Less than 24 hours later, Battle officially joined the Lions, who went 0-16 last season.
Battle, 24, spent his rookie season with the San Diego Chargers in 2007, appearing in one game and registering one tackle.
The 5’11,” 173-pound defensive back is a former University of Georgia player.

    Haha. Poor Lions–they’ll never live that down, it’s always brought up whether or not it’s relevant to the story…

    It’s going to be 30 years from now and you’ll be saying, “The Detroit Lions…who went 0-16 in 2008…have a new stadium”

    +1 for the Lions defense, and 0-16 will only be relevant until the regular season gets extended.

    The Lions now have 8 CBs on their roster. 3 more and we can field a defense that’s all CBs. Not all of these guys will make the team, so it will be interesting to see what happens when they start cutting.
