Lions Sign Tra Battle

Former Dallas Cowboys cornerback Tra Battle was claimed by the Detroit Lions off of waivers today, according to Adam Caplan of Scout.com. (We’ve confirmed it as well.) Battle, who played in five games last season for the Cowboys and recorded 14 tackles, was cut by Dallas on Wednesday. Less than 24 hours later, Battle officially joined the Lions, who went 0-16 last season. Battle, 24, spent his rookie season with the San Diego Chargers in 2007, appearing in one game and registering one tackle. The 5'11,” 173-pound defensive back is a former University of Georgia player.
