Cowboys Unveil “Razorback” Offense

The Wildcat offense is an animal with a different name in Dallas. Specifically, the Cowboys refer to the offense as the Razorback since speedy former Arkansas running back Felix Jones is at the controls. According to Tim MacMahon of the Dallas Morning News, the Cowboys’ version of the Wildcat featured some diverse looks. That included quarterback Tony Romo lining up at wide receiver, wide receiver Patrick Crayton taking shotgun snaps and Jones going in motion as the Cowboys unveiled some different formations during Thursday’s practice. “Man, it was great,” said Jones, who was utilized primarily as a decoy. “It brought back old memories. It’s just the first day. I believe we can get a lot better at it. You’ll see a lot more of it, I’m hoping, when the time comes.” Coach Wade Phillips was hesitant to discuss the Razorback much, but eventually acknowledged that the Cowboys may run it during games. “We’re looking at it a little bit,” Phillips said. “We’ll see if it goes any further than that. It depends on what we can do, certainly.”
