Griese Making Post-Football Plans

With veteran quarterback Brian Griese not attending a mandatory minicamp in Tampa and with the Buccaneers seemingly content to keep him on ice unless and until one or more of their 24 other quarterbacks get hurt, we’re hearing that Griese is considering retirement.
Per a source with knowledge of the situation, Griese has begun the process of seriously exploring post-football career opportunities.
For this year, not 2010 or beyond.
Griese, drafted by the Broncos in 1998 after leading Michigan to a national title, has played for the Dolphins and Bears, too.  His current stint with Tampa is his second — he played there in 2004 and 2005 as well.
In eleven NFL seasons, Griese has completed 62.7 percent of his passes, for 19,440 yards.  He has thrown 119 touchdown passes and 99 interceptions.
Though those numbers won’t get him into Canton without paying the admission fee, Griese has something that several Hall of Fame quarterbacks don’t.
As a rookie in Denver, Griese won a Super Bowl ring.
How do you feel about that, Dan?

Which reminds me. What’s Jake Plummer doing these days?

Do you think the Browns could trade Stallworth and a couple of draft picks for his Bentley? The Bentley obviously has better hands than him.

Yeah Florio, I’m sure Marino is insanely jealous of the ring that Griese got for holding a clipboard as a rookie.

You can be a mediocre QB and get a SB ring. Just ask Trnet Dilfer.
Oh, and btw, Randy Moss will NEVER EVER get a SB ring. You heard it here!!

You think he’s pissed, you shoulda seen Ray Finkle…
    “Laces OUT MARINO!!!!”

Dan would trade his HOF statue for a Super Bowl ring in a nanosecond.
Clearly, it still bothers him to not have won the big enchilada.
In the ultimate team game, there’s no higher achievement.

ROFL!! Marino getting angry. It’s a good thing he didn’t have a SB ring or that table would’ve shattered. Statue well deserved.. but where’s the hardware??
    Go Pats!!

Sure Brian Griese can make post-NFL plans…..but can the NFL make post-Brian Griese plans?

He can use that ring to get a discount on admission to the Hall of Fame to visit Dan’s and Dad’s busts.

Yeah. I’m a big Michigan fan and always liked this kid. Wasn’t highly touted, but he did get the job done there.
Funny, that there isn’t someone interested in getting him on a roster. But it’s only June. We’ll see where he is in August.
Even funnier is watching Tom Brady on the sidelines during some of the timeouts with Carr and Griese during that Rose Bowl game which Michigan won 21-16 over the WSU Cougars.
Who was the other QB? Oh yeah, Ryan Leaf. Okay. That was a quick 10+ years.

I work with a guy who went to Pitt with Marino and he said that Danny boy was the biggest jag off on campus.

I just love that Dan cares so much about getting things right. Firing Olivadotti and allowing Marino to serve as qb and defensive coordinator probably would have resulted in a ring or two.
