Dolphins Agree To Terms With Gardner

Miami Dolphins sixth-round offensive tackle Andrew Gardner has agreed to terms on a four-year, $1.65 million deal, according to Mike Berardino of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. A former Georgia Tech player, Gardner received a signing bonus of roughly $75,000, per the report. And the deal includes an escalator clause that would boost his salary if he should ascend to the starting lineup. UPDATE: Gardner’s deal is worth $1.86 million and includes a $109,000 signing bonus, according to Adam Caplan of Scout.com. He’s expected to finalize the deal with his signature today. “All parties are pleased to have the deal done in a timely manner,” agent Lester Archambeau told the Sun-Sentinel. “Andrew is pleased to have that part of the business taken care of and looks forward to continuing his hard work at getting himself ready to compete in training camp. . . . “He’s a fantastic kid. He’s quiet and reserved, very conservative, with a fantastic mindset for what he’s got to get done. He’s got a great work ethic. He’s doing his part to do everything they ask him to do.” The Dolphins have previously signed one other draft pick: fifth-round tight end John Nalbone (Monmouth).
