Are you going to say something bad about my mother too? Did you forget Doug Williams, who when he got on the big stage, had a career game? Choking comes in all shapes and colors. If you want to call Jim Kelly a choker that’s fine but he didn’t blow the winning FG nor did he forget his helmet right before a Superbowl game. However McNabb did barf at crunch time in his one trip to the SB. Cunningham started short arming passes in the second half of the NFCC game against Atlanta and turned a W into a L.

im suprised vox hasnt come on to call them the eagirls (cause thats so clever)
mcnabb is a really underappreciated QB. not quite in brady/manning territory, but deffinetely in that next tier of very good QBs. he carried the eagles offense for years, dragging the likes of james thrash and todd (im a pussy) pinkston to the NFC championship game year after year. the eagles have been a contender most of his career. he probably wouldve won a ring in 04 had he not run into the best team from the patriots dynasty. a lot of eagles fans who ride his ass will never realize what they had until he’s gone and the birds endure 10 years of mediocrity trying to find a replacement.

b-hop is just an uneducated street guy who liked to fight. fortunately for him, he was good at it. He was also undoubtedly tough as nails. Unfortunately, b-hop still thinks in the same street terms he always has. So, if McNabb didn’t give him his props, then b-hop was going to take offense. Two things are for sure, b-hop never read a book in his life, and if he did, it would be at the reading level of “little t learns to share”. b-hop is about as capable of running the eagles as i am of flying the space shuttle.
the best line of the comments however was the observation that anyone going on the “Caddy to anyone famous (Charles, Schmitty, Andy, Joe B.)” show to call someone a “lapdog” is beyond ironic. but the caddy can be counted on to never ask a tough question when those he caddies for are on the show, so an idiot like b-hop could make those stupid comments unchallenged.
makes me wonder about the kind of folks you hang with these days florio….

For those of you asking who Hopkins is, he was middleweight champion for TEN YEARS and successfully defended his title 20 times. Hardly a nobody – and deserving of more than a little respect. That said, ( and since no one here was at practise that day, it’s impossible to tell which side to take), Hopkins does come off as a bit of a baby.

Why do people keep bashing McNabb?
Regardless of Brian Westbrook and a good offensive line (which admittedly is a huge leg-up), McNabb is that team. Few QBs (definitely ones you can’t land that easily…Mannings, Rivers, Brady, Brees, etc.) would have done better with that team.
Yes, McNabb suffers with bouts with inconsistency, but the dude took his team to a bunch of NFC Championships with James Thrash and Todd Pinkston as his #1 & #2 receivers.
There’s a reason why Bernard Hopkins is a boxer. He chose not to use his brain early on, and after getting knocked in the head for some time, he has no use of his brain whether he’d like to or not. He should stick to boxing.
After McNabb gets run out of Philly (or if Philly fans are lucky, he finishes his career in Philly), those shoes are going to be tough to fill.

Hopkins was never half the fighter that McNabb is a QB; he sounds like a punch drunk ididot most of the time; which is probably why DMac didn’t want to associate with him when Hpkins and his people visited the Nova care complex. Notice McNabb doesn’t respond in kind; that’s because he has too much class and because most people don’t even know who Hopkins is, as has been posted on this board several times.

All because McNabb didn’t want to hang out with Bernard and his entourage of thugs then his replacement for him is Vick? I guess Bernie wasn’t at the NFC title game when D Mac lead the birds to the super bowl over Vick without TO.
Sounds like Hopkins should have kept his gloves up more in those fights… It’s not like he was real bright before the punches landed on that 5 foot 6 inch frame.

it’s going to be funny when Philadelphia gets it’s wish to move on from McNabb and realizes how good they’ve had it. Be careful of what you wish for.
Ask Miami about how that works out when you try to replace a franchise QB. It’s been almost a decade, and despite last year’s success, I think they’re still looking, all while spending 2nd round draft picks for 5 straight years trying to find that guy.
