“Winning a Super Bowl is very important to him but there’s no way to know (who will be there at the end),” he pointed out.
Edgerrin "No Gain" James isn't interested in winning a Super Bowl. He's only interested in getting his touches. James is all about James.
In the past 3 seasons, in almost 800 carries, he only had 5 carries over 20 yards and ZERO over 40. And he dropped almost every pass thrown his way. In short, he sucked.
And throughout all that mediocrity, he constantly blamed the Cardinal offensive line for his pathetic YPC, when in reality defenses were almost always spread out in nickel packages trying to defend Warner/Fitzgerald/Boldin/Breaston. He should have been having a field day.
Last season, No Gain was in a great situation, and was en-route to a Super Bowl; yet he asked to be released late in the season so he could get "more touches" with a non playoff contender like Tampa Bay.
Yes, No Gain wanted to be released from a team with a chance at the Super Bowl (a very good chance, as it turned out) so he could churn out more 2 yard carries to build up his career stats (for what could only be described as a very uninspiring career with very few highlight-reel carries).
After watching him plod along and listening to his "Leon"-type statements for the past 3 seasons, I'm so glad the Cardinals are rid of that bum.
Let the Hightower/Wells/Wright era begin!
